- • Join Jerry, a rapidly growing insurtech company revolutionizing car ownership with our AI-powered AllCar™ super app, and contribute to a platform that serves millions of users.
- • As a Software Engineer II on the Core Marketplace Automation Team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing automation systems that streamline complex insurance processes, directly impacting user experience and business efficiency.
- • This is a unique opportunity to work on software that automates critical tasks such as document verification, policy changes, payments, cancellations, and renewals, making car ownership more affordable, seamless, and magical for our rapidly expanding user base.
- • You will be instrumental in building backend business logic and robust pipelines that drive automation, ensuring compliance with intricate insurance carrier rules while optimizing for speed and reliability.
- • Your contributions will directly lead to automating hundreds of human agent hours, enabling efficient business scaling and allowing us to grow from 5 million to 50 million users.
- • You will design and implement backend systems that manage customer policy data synchronization, deliver timely alerts to users, and power seamless re-shopping experiences, ensuring customers always have the best coverage.
- • A key responsibility will be to optimize and scale our internal tools, akin to an in-house DocuSign for servicing, with the goal of reducing agent intervention to near zero.
- • You will collaborate closely with product managers, data scientists, and engineering operations teams to proactively identify and address potential customer churn, significantly improving customer retention rates.
- • Embrace an asynchronous work culture, collaborating effectively across different time zones with minimal meetings, leveraging tools like Asana and Slack for clear communication and project tracking.
- • Continuously enhance our backend systems, APIs, and microservice architecture, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance as the platform grows.
- • Ship new automations rapidly, working within fast sprint cycles that average 1–2 weeks for new feature delivery, allowing for quick iteration and impact.
- • Take ownership of end-to-end outcomes for the features and systems you build, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement and excellence.
- • Work with a brilliant and supportive team of engineers, product managers, and data scientists in an environment that fosters challenging the status quo, encouraging innovation, promoting collaboration, and supporting mutual success.
- • Explore and experiment with new technologies, including AI/LLM tools, early in their development, without the hindrance of bureaucratic processes.
- • Enjoy a flexible work environment that allows you to balance personal and professional life, with remote-friendly and even international work arrangement possibilities.
- • Benefit from significant ownership opportunities, the chance to "swim outside your lanes," level up quickly in your career, and mentor other engineers, contributing to a culture of shared growth and learning.
- • Tackle diverse and challenging problems daily, gaining exposure to both the technical intricacies and the business logic of our core insurance products.
- • Contribute to a product that has a tangible, real-world impact, simplifying one of the most significant expenses for millions of people.
- • Be part of a company that is profitable and has experienced 60x revenue growth in the last five years, with ambitious plans for future expansion.
- • Help shape the future of insurance technology by building innovative solutions that redefine the car ownership experience.
- • Participate in a culture that values curiosity, adaptability, and a passion for solving complex, real-world problems at scale.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum of 2 years of full-stack engineering experience building production-grade software.
- • Proven experience building large-scale distributed systems, ideally for a fast-growing consumer-facing software company.
- • Strong foundational knowledge in data structures, algorithms, and systems design.
- • Demonstrated ability to tackle ambiguous problems, break them down into actionable code, and iterate quickly.
- • Experience working asynchronously across teams and time zones, with excellent communication skills.
- • Curiosity and adaptability, with a passion for learning new tools and understanding the bigger picture.
