- • Design, build, and scale planner services that enable deployment specialists, customers, and solutions consultants to efficiently manage Flock’s live device deployments.
- • Write and maintain high-quality code in TypeScript (Node.js) for web services, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance under growing system demands.
- • Collaborate on the development and optimization of APIs that integrate with internal tools and external customer systems, adhering to modern web service standards.
- • Utilize React with TypeScript to develop and enhance user-facing interfaces for planning and deployment tracking tools.
- • Interact with relational databases using SQL to query, analyze, and manipulate data critical to planning workflows and operational metrics.
- • Containerize applications using Docker and deploy services to Kubernetes clusters via Helm charts, ensuring consistent environments across development and production.
- • Leverage AWS managed services including S3, API Gateway, and SQS to build resilient, event-driven architectures that support real-time data processing and task orchestration.
- • Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and technical discussions to improve team velocity and software quality.
- • Independently own features from concept to deployment, reducing reliance on guidance over time and increasing autonomy in execution.
- • Navigate and contribute to a large, complex codebase, identifying inefficiencies and proposing improvements to architecture and process.
- • Engage with cross-functional teams including product, solutions, and operations to align technical work with business goals and customer needs.
- • Present technical work during engineering demo days, sharing insights on challenges, solutions, and learnings from completed projects.
- • Provide feedback on existing systems, including limitations, missing metrics, and opportunities for automation or improvement.
- • Maintain transparency in communication by asking questions publicly in Slack and documenting decisions to foster team-wide knowledge sharing.
- • Contribute to refining the team’s engineering processes, sprint rituals, and planning methodologies to enhance team effectiveness.
- • Continuously learn and adopt new technologies and best practices to stay aligned with industry standards and Flock’s evolving technical stack.
- • Support the onboarding of new team members by sharing context, reviewing code, and answering questions in a collaborative, inclusive manner.
- • Adhere to and help enforce Flock’s security and compliance standards, including preparation for and maintenance of CJIS certification requirements.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proficient in TypeScript (Node.js) for building web services
- • Experienced with React and modern web frameworks
- • Skilled in SQL and relational database interaction
- • Familiar with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm for deployment
- • Knowledge of AWS services including S3, API Gateway, and SQS
- • Demonstrated ability to solve ambiguous problems with structured planning
