- • You will contribute to the evolution and maintenance of Notion’s async task runner, which supports over 100 million global users and ensures a fast, reliable, and secure user experience.
- • You will help maintain and improve Notion’s configuration management platform, enabling safe and explicit configuration management for product and infrastructure engineers across the company.
- • You will work with senior team members to ensure systems remain reliable, efficient, and scalable as Notion’s product and business grow rapidly.
- • You will evaluate and integrate new technologies to address emerging infrastructure challenges and keep systems ahead of future demands.
- • You will debug live production systems with minimal disruption, including performing component replacements and managing failovers during incidents.
- • You will participate in an on-call rotation to respond to production incidents, uphold service reliability, and restore normal operations quickly.
- • You will partner with product engineers and other infrastructure teams to align platform capabilities with evolving business needs and product goals.
- • You will develop skills in distributed systems and infrastructure engineering while gaining hands-on experience in high-scale, mission-critical systems.
- • You will act with ownership and initiative in a fast-moving, unstructured environment, taking responsibility for ambiguous problems and driving results.
- • You will apply a systems-thinking approach to design solutions that balance tradeoffs like consistency, latency, and scalability.
- • You will prioritize business impact and maintain a pragmatic balance between engineering craft, speed, and long-term maintainability.
- • You will collaborate empathetically across teams to unblock engineers, provide guidance, and support reliable system development.
- • You will use AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results, though deep AI expertise is not required — curiosity and willingness to adopt AI is expected.
- • You are required to work in-person at the Hyderabad office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays (Anchor Days); certain teams may require additional in-office days.
🎯 Requirements
- • At least 1 year of experience as an early-career software developer
- • Understanding of distributed systems and ability to design solutions accounting for tradeoffs like consistency, latency, and scalability
- • Pragmatic problem-solving approach with bias toward action and focus on business impact
- • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured environment with ownership and initiative
- • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for production incident response
- • Comfort collaborating across teams with customer empathy to support engineers building on infrastructure platforms
