- • Build, maintain, and improve internal developer tools that streamline engineering workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and deployments
- • Own the implementation of well-scoped features end-to-end—from writing the code to monitoring it in production
- • Identify and address friction points in the developer experience using data and metrics to prioritize improvements
- • Contribute to the reliability and scalability of the company’s AWS-based infrastructure within defined domains
- • Write clean, testable, and maintainable code that upholds and advances Homebase engineering standards
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with platform, security, and product teams to understand requirements and ensure alignment
- • Actively participate in on-call rotations to identify and resolve infrastructure issues
- • Collaborate with teammates and begin influencing engineering decisions on the team
- • Use AI tools to drive personal effectiveness and improve workflows
- • Work in a hybrid model with required in-office days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
- • Treat internal engineers as customers and focus on reducing friction in their daily workflows
- • Apply Infrastructure as Code principles, with preference for Terraform, to manage cloud resources
- • Deploy and manage containerized applications in production environments
- • Utilize observability tools to debug and resolve issues in live systems
- • Maintain a strong sense of ownership by delivering on commitments, monitoring shipped work, and following through on risks to timely delivery
- • Integrate feedback, support teammate development, and communicate effectively across teams
- • Contribute to a culture of experimentation, fast learning, and continuous improvement aligned with company principles
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of experience in Software Development or Infrastructure Engineering
- • Strong development background in Ruby or Golang
- • Hands-on experience building internal platforms or tooling that other systems rely on
- • Some hands-on experience with AWS or cloud infrastructure in production
- • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) and containerized application deployment
- • Experience with CI/CD systems and an understanding of software delivery pipelines
