- • Lead key engineering and product decisions for the Speechify iOS app, which is ranked #18 in the App Store Productivity category and recipient of Apple’s 2025 Design Award for Inclusivity.
- • Actively ship production code for the Speechify iOS application, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and performant features for over 50 million users.
- • Work within a dedicated product team to design, build, and refine core functionality of the iOS app, including text-to-speech playback, document parsing, and accessibility features.
- • Participate in product discussions to shape the roadmap, collaborating with designers and product managers to prioritize features that enhance user experience.
- • Maintain and enhance the existing complex app architecture using modern iOS development practices and scalable design patterns.
- • Apply SOLID principles to write clean, maintainable, and testable code, ensuring every class adheres to architectural best practices.
- • Implement multithreaded programming to optimize performance for audio processing, background tasks, and real-time user interactions.
- • Integrate and manage CI/CD infrastructure using Fastlane to automate builds, testing, and App Store deployments.
- • Utilize Swift and SwiftUI to build responsive, intuitive, and accessible user interfaces that serve users with learning differences such as Dyslexia, ADD, Low Vision, Concussions, Autism, and Second Language Learners.
- • Work with Git and follow established Git strategies for collaborative development in a fully remote, high-growth environment.
- • Balance speed and focus in a fast-paced startup setting, knowing when to ship quickly and when to invest time in long-term architectural improvements.
- • Demonstrate customer obsession by prioritizing user feedback and ensuring the product delivers transformative experiences—users have shared emotional stories of how Speechify changed their lives.
- • Contribute to a flat organizational structure where leadership is earned through technical excellence, consistent delivery, and strong communication.
- • Engage in a fully asynchronous culture with a team of engineers from Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Stanford, Stripe, Vercel, Bolt, and startup founders.
- • Work on a product at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Audio, helping redefine how people consume written content.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proficiency in Swift programming language
- • Experience with SwiftUI for building iOS user interfaces
- • Proven experience with multithreaded programming in iOS applications
- • Hands-on experience with CI/CD infrastructure and Fastlane for app deployment
- • Demonstrated understanding of SOLID principles and their application in iOS architecture
- • Experience with Git and familiarity with collaborative Git workflows
