📋 Description

• Lead key engineering and product decisions for the Speechify iOS app, which is ranked #18 in the App Store Productivity category and recipient of Apple’s 2025 Design Award for inclusivity.
• Actively ship production code for the iOS application, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and performant features that serve over 50 million users.
• Work within a dedicated product team to design, implement, and refine core functionality of the iOS app, including text-to-speech playback, document parsing, and user interface enhancements.
• Participate in product discussions to shape the roadmap, collaborating with designers and product managers to prioritize features that improve user experience and accessibility.
• Maintain and enhance the existing complex app architecture using modern iOS development practices and scalable design patterns.
• Apply SOLID principles to write clean, maintainable, and testable code, ensuring every class adheres to robust software engineering standards.
• Utilize Swift and SwiftUI to build intuitive, responsive, and accessible user interfaces tailored to users with learning differences such as Dyslexia, ADD, Low Vision, Concussions, Autism, and Second Language Learners.
• Implement multithreading techniques to optimize performance for audio processing, background tasks, and concurrent user interactions.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines using Fastlane to automate builds, testing, and App Store deployments with reliability and speed.
• Work with Git and follow established Git strategies to collaborate effectively within a fully remote, high-growth team environment.
• Balance speed and focus in a fast-paced startup setting, knowing when to ship quickly and when to invest time in long-term architectural improvements.
• Demonstrate customer obsession by prioritizing user feedback and ensuring the product delivers an emotionally impactful experience—users have reported crying upon first use due to its life-changing impact.
• Contribute to a flat organizational structure where leadership is earned through technical excellence, consistent delivery, and strong communication.
• Engage in a fully asynchronous work culture with no physical office, collaborating with engineers, AI researchers, and product teams from companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Stripe, and Vercel.
• Help drive innovation at the intersection of artificial intelligence and audio technology, expanding Speechify’s mission to remove barriers to reading for millions worldwide.

🎯 Requirements

• Proficiency in Swift programming language
• Experience with SwiftUI for building iOS user interfaces
• Proven experience with multithreading programming in iOS applications
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD infrastructure and Fastlane for app deployment
• Strong understanding of SOLID principles and their application in iOS architecture
• Experience with Git and familiarity with Git workflows in team environments
