- • As a Software Engineer (Java) at Adyen N.V., you will contribute to a global financial technology platform that powers payments, data, and financial products for industry leaders like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. Your work will directly impact scalable, low-latency systems that enable businesses to grow faster through innovative and ethical solutions.
- • You will own the full software development lifecycle — from design and implementation to testing, deployment, and post-release monitoring — ensuring high-quality, production-ready code is delivered weekly to a global user base.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include building and maintaining Adyen’s distributed high-performance platform, writing and optimizing Java 17-based services using RESTful APIs, and interacting with large-scale PostgreSQL and CockroachDB databases to ensure data integrity and performance.
- • You will identify and improve platform components to enhance robustness, scalability, and security, particularly within core financial data processes and finance infrastructure, while adhering to strict reliability standards.
- • Collaboration is central to the role: you will work across geographically distributed teams and time zones, actively participate in code reviews, provide and receive constructive feedback, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- • Within your first few weeks, you will deploy code that impacts millions of transactions globally, gaining immediate ownership and visibility into the real-world impact of your contributions.

- • Adyen fosters an office-first culture in Bengaluru that values in-person collaboration, enabling strong team cohesion, mentorship, and rapid problem-solving through direct interaction.
- • The company is deeply committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, creating a workplace where diverse perspectives are not only welcomed but essential to solving complex technical challenges — you will be encouraged to bring your authentic self to work.

🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional experience with object-oriented programming, specifically Java (Java 17 preferred)
- • Strong proficiency in writing testable, maintainable code and taking ownership of end-to-end feature delivery
- • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- • Proficiency in English (required); additional languages are a plus
- • Experience with RESTful web services, SQL/PostgreSQL, and familiarity with ORM frameworks like MyBatis

- • Exposure to one of the largest PostgreSQL deployments in the industry, working on real-time financial data systems
- • Weekly release cycle enabling rapid impact and immediate visibility of your code in production
- • Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion with a culture that values authentic self-expression and diverse perspectives
- • Opportunity to work on core financial infrastructure supporting global enterprises like Meta, Uber, and Microsoft
- • Access to modern tech stack including Java 17, Tomcat, Gradle, Elasticsearch, and CockroachDB for skill development
