- • As a Software Engineer on Waymo’s Marketplace ML Platform team, you will implement and scale the core economic engine powering Waymo’s ride-hailing commercial services, ensuring efficient fleet operations, fast rider pickups, and safe, profitable autonomous vehicle network performance across cities.
- • Day to day, you will develop high-level infrastructure code for automatically training and deploying sophisticated optimization and prediction ML models that drive real-time decisions for pricing, matching, and positioning, while owning and hosting core ML models and automating their full life cycle including feature engineering, training workflows, and inference services.
- • You will join the Marketplace engineering team within Waymo, an autonomous driving technology company spun out of the Google Self-Driving Car Project in 2009, which has powered over ten million rider-only trips and driven over 100 million autonomous miles on public roads, with a mission to be the world’s most trusted driver.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in ML infrastructure, optimization systems, and large-scale backend platforms, contributing to next-generation Marketplace Simulation and unified Experimentation platforms while working on high-impact systems that directly influence the safety, efficiency, and scalability of autonomous mobility services.
🎯 Requirements
- • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- • 4+ years of experience programming in backend coding languages such as Java or C++
- • Experience in building backend platforms supporting multiple product use-cases/services
- • Prior Machine Learning Engineering experience in Python using mature ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch or Keras
