Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Architect and evolve the shared mobile platform that underpins Legion’s iOS and Android apps, ensuring it can gracefully serve millions of frontline workers and enterprise managers with sub-second response times and 99.9 % uptime.
- • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of core platform components—networking, authentication, data synchronization, feature-flagging, analytics, and CI/CD pipelines—writing clean, idiomatic Swift/Kotlin and modern C++ where performance demands it.
- • Design and maintain modular SDKs that product squads consume to ship new features in days, not weeks; your abstractions will hide complexity while still exposing hooks for deep customization.
- • Establish and enforce non-functional standards: memory budgets, battery-impact thresholds, startup-time SLAs, and security compliance (OWASP MASVS L2, SOC-2, GDPR, HIPAA).
- • Champion a culture of automated quality: write unit, integration, and screenshot tests that run in every pull request; instrument builds with static analysis, linting, and supply-chain scanning so defects never reach production.
- • Lead performance and reliability initiatives—memory-leak hunts, crash-rate reduction, cold-start profiling, and rollout strategies (phased, staged, canary) that protect user trust.
- • Collaborate daily with Product, UX, Security, and Backend teams to translate ambitious roadmaps into pragmatic technical designs, producing clear RFCs and architecture decision records that anyone can understand.
- • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pair programming, design reviews, and brown-bag sessions; your feedback will level-up the entire mobile organization.
- • Contribute to open-source projects and internal libraries (e.g., custom GraphQL clients, networking layers, or state-management frameworks) that give back to the wider mobile community.
- • Monitor real-world telemetry via Firebase, Datadog, and custom dashboards; turn user pain points into actionable sprints and celebrate measurable wins with the company.
- • Participate in an inclusive, remote-first culture that values psychological safety—your voice will shape both technical direction and team rituals.
- • Travel twice a year (optional) for week-long engineering summits where you’ll whiteboard the next big architectural leap and then celebrate with your teammates under the California sun.
