📋 Description

• Join Built Technologies Inc. as a Staff Mobile Engineer (E4) and play a pivotal role in leading and evolving our mobile platform. This is a senior individual contributor position offering significant technical ownership, deep hands-on development opportunities, and the chance to exert meaningful influence across the entire organization.
• As the technical owner of the Built Inspection Application, you will be instrumental in shaping its architecture, optimizing its performance, ensuring its reliability, and enhancing the overall developer experience. This is a critical application within our ecosystem, directly impacting how real estate and construction projects are managed and financed.
• Your responsibilities will extend beyond a single application. You will be a key voice in defining the future of mobile engineering at Built. This includes establishing best practices, setting technical standards, influencing product roadmaps, and fostering strong collaborative partnerships with our Product, Design, Backend, and Platform engineering teams.
• We are looking for a proactive leader who thrives on solving complex mobile challenges, possesses a strong ability to think at the platform level, and is passionate about elevating mobile as a first-class citizen within our comprehensive technology ecosystem.
• You will be responsible for driving technical strategy for the mobile team, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives and technological advancements.
• This role involves hands-on coding, architectural design, code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers, contributing to a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• You will collaborate closely with product managers to translate business requirements into robust and scalable mobile solutions, ensuring that our mobile offerings meet the evolving needs of our diverse user base in the real estate and construction industries.
• Work with UI/UX designers to implement intuitive and engaging user interfaces, ensuring a seamless and positive user experience across all mobile touchpoints.
• Partner with backend and platform engineering teams to define and consume APIs, ensuring efficient data exchange and system integration.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks, bugs, and other technical issues, implementing effective solutions to maintain high levels of application stability and responsiveness.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in mobile development (iOS and Android), evaluating their potential impact and applicability to Built's mobile strategy.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of our CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications, ensuring efficient and reliable build, test, and deployment processes.
• Champion code quality, testability, and maintainability through rigorous code reviews, unit testing, and adherence to established coding standards.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from ideation and design to development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• You will have the opportunity to influence the selection of mobile technologies, frameworks, and tools, ensuring we are using the most effective solutions for our needs.
• Drive initiatives to improve the developer experience within the mobile team, making it easier and more efficient for engineers to build, test, and deploy high-quality mobile applications.

• This role requires a deep understanding of mobile architecture patterns, such as MVVM, MVC, or VIPER, and the ability to apply them effectively to complex applications.
• You will be expected to contribute to technical documentation, ensuring that architectural decisions, design patterns, and best practices are well-documented and accessible to the team.
• Engage in cross-functional team meetings and discussions, providing technical expertise and insights to help drive project success.
• Mentor and guide other mobile engineers, sharing your knowledge and experience to foster their professional growth and development.
• Proactively identify opportunities for technical innovation and improvement within the mobile space, proposing and implementing solutions that enhance our product offerings and operational efficiency.
• Ensure that all mobile development adheres to security best practices and data privacy regulations, protecting sensitive user and company information.
• Contribute to the overall technical health of the engineering organization by participating in architectural reviews and providing feedback on cross-team technical initiatives.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior or Staff Mobile Engineer with a strong track record of delivering high-quality mobile applications on both iOS and Android platforms.
• Deep expertise in native mobile development languages (Swift/Objective-C for iOS, Kotlin/Java for Android) and associated SDKs.
• Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM, MVC, VIPER) and experience implementing them in complex applications.
• Experience with performance optimization, debugging, and troubleshooting of mobile applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile development and best practices for automated testing (unit, integration, UI tests).
