📋 Description

• As a Software Engineer - Platform / Core Infrastructure at X-Bow Systems Inc., you will design and implement the scalable, secure, and resilient distributed infrastructure that powers the company’s AI-driven offensive security platform, enabling rapid vulnerability discovery and exploitation across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
• Your work will directly impact the performance, reliability, and developer experience of core services that support AI researchers and security experts in identifying real-world zero-days, contributing to X-Bow’s mission of staying ahead in the global cybersecurity arms race.
• You will design and implement infrastructure systems that scale reliably and securely across AWS, Azure, OCI, and on-premises environments, ensuring seamless deployment and operation of X-Bow’s AI engine and distributed analysis systems.
• You will tune and optimize cloud services across compute, storage, networking, and observability layers to enhance performance, reliability, and maintainability of core platform services under high-load, distributed conditions.
• You will develop and maintain core services written in TypeScript, Kotlin, and Go, adapting quickly to new languages as needed to support unique deployment requirements and infrastructure abstractions.
• You will support large-scale systems with event-driven architectures, leveraging technologies like Kafka to enable asynchronous, resilient workflows across microservices.
• You will own problems end-to-end—from initial design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and production support—ensuring accountability and quality across the full lifecycle.
• You will navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced startup environment, helping define not just what we build, but how we build it, by shaping engineering practices and infrastructure standards.
• You will partner closely with AI researchers, security experts, and fellow engineers to enable high-velocity product development, translating cutting-edge research into scalable, production-ready systems.
• You will design for resilience by implementing disaster recovery and business continuity strategies, including failover mechanisms, backup protocols, and chaos engineering practices to ensure system uptime even during failures.
• You will improve how we build, deploy, and monitor services at scale by refining CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code practices, observability tooling, and automation to increase developer velocity and system reliability.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong experience building and operating scalable, distributed systems on cloud infrastructure such as AWS or similar platforms.
• Extensive experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes.
• Comfortable working with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CDK) and treating infrastructure as an integral part of the engineering system.
• Experience with event-driven architectures, message queues, or async workflows (e.g., Kafka).
• A track record of performance tuning across cloud services, databases, and compute layers.
• Eager to learn new tools, languages, and technologies as needed, including TypeScript, Kotlin, and Go.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively with incomplete information in ambiguous environments.
• Thoughtful communicator who values clarity and simplicity, comfortable in a fast-paced startup setting.
• Proactive mindset toward failure modes, with experience implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
