📋 Description

• As a Software Engineer - Platform / Core Infrastructure at X-Bow Systems Inc., you will design and implement the scalable, secure, and resilient distributed infrastructure that powers the company’s AI-driven offensive security platform, enabling rapid vulnerability discovery and validation across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
• Your work will directly impact the performance, reliability, and developer experience of core services that support XBOW’s mission to stay ahead in the AI-powered cybersecurity arms race by providing proof-backed security results in hours instead of weeks.
• You will design and implement infrastructure systems that scale reliably and securely across AWS, Azure, OCI, and on-premises environments, ensuring seamless deployment and operation of the AI engine and distributed analysis systems.
• You will tune and optimize cloud services across compute, storage, networking, and observability layers to enhance performance, reliability, and maintainability of core platform services supporting high-throughput AI workloads.
• You will develop and maintain core services written in TypeScript, Kotlin, and Go, adapting quickly to new languages as needed to meet evolving infrastructure and deployment requirements.
• You will support large-scale systems using event-driven architectures, leveraging technologies like Kafka to enable asynchronous, resilient communication between services.
• You will own problems end-to-end—from initial design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and production support—ensuring accountability and quality across the full lifecycle.
• You will navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced startup environment, actively contributing to how systems are built as much as what is built, helping shape engineering practices and platform evolution.
• You will partner closely with AI researchers, security experts, and fellow engineers to enable high-velocity product development by providing stable, performant, and scalable infrastructure foundations.
• You will design for resilience by implementing disaster recovery and business continuity strategies, including failover mechanisms and data replication, to ensure system uptime even during infrastructure failures.
• You will improve how services are built, deployed, and monitored at scale by refining CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code practices, and observability tooling to increase developer productivity and system reliability.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong experience building and operating scalable, distributed systems on cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or similar platforms.
• Extensive experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes, in production environments.
• Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CDK, treating infrastructure as an integral part of the software engineering process.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues such as Kafka, including design, implementation, and tuning of async workflows.
• A proven track record of performance tuning across cloud services, databases, and compute layers to improve latency, throughput, and resource efficiency.
• Ability to learn new tools, languages (including TypeScript, Kotlin, and Go), and technologies quickly as project needs evolve.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on clarity, simplicity, and collaboration in ambiguous, fast-paced startup environments.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, especially when working with incomplete information or evolving requirements.
• Proactive mindset toward failure modes, with hands-on experience implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans for critical systems.
