- • Join Centro Engineering, the innovation engine behind OneDigital’s mission to modernize the employee-benefits experience for millions of working Americans. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of products that replace legacy insurance processes with elegant, cloud-native solutions.
- • Architect and deliver resilient backend services in Golang that power quoting, enrollment, and analytics workflows for brokers, carriers, and HR teams. Your APIs will handle thousands of concurrent users and terabytes of policy data while maintaining sub-second response times.
- • Craft pixel-perfect, accessible React + TypeScript interfaces from Figma designs, breaking each screen into reusable, testable components. You will champion WCAG 2.1 standards so that every employee—regardless of ability—can confidently choose and manage their benefits.
- • Collaborate daily with product managers, UX researchers, and actuarial analysts to translate complex insurance rules into intuitive features. Expect rapid white-boarding sessions, iterative user testing, and data-driven decisions that move the roadmap forward every two-week sprint.
- • Lead and participate in rigorous code reviews, pairing sessions, and lunch-and-learns that raise the bar for quality across the team. You will evangelize clean architecture, domain-driven design, and test-driven development to keep our 100k+ lines of code readable and maintainable.
- • Diagnose and crush performance bottlenecks across the stack—from slow SQL queries in PostgreSQL to React re-renders on low-powered devices. You will instrument services with DataDog dashboards and distributed tracing so issues are caught before clients notice.
- • Own technical documentation that enables any engineer to spin up the entire platform locally in under five minutes. You will keep ADRs, API specs, and runbooks current so tribal knowledge never becomes a single point of failure.
- • Contribute to the evolution of our DevOps culture by refining Docker images, Kubernetes manifests, and GitHub Actions pipelines. Every merge to main triggers automated tests, security scans, and blue-green deployments to AWS with zero downtime.
- • Mentor junior developers through structured onboarding, weekly 1:1s, and code-review feedback that accelerates their growth. Your guidance will shape Centro’s next generation of technical leaders.
- • Stay curious—experiment with emerging technologies in quarterly hack-days, propose architectural spikes, and bring fresh ideas that keep our stack modern without chasing shiny objects.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of professional software-engineering experience shipping production web applications
- • Production-level proficiency in Golang for backend services and React + TypeScript for frontend applications
- • Demonstrated experience translating Figma designs into accessible, reusable React components
- • Hands-on expertise with relational databases (PostgreSQL), RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture deployed on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- • Nice-to-have: prior experience in the insurance or employee-benefits industry, plus familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools like DataDog
