Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Architect and ship production-grade features across our full-stack virtual care platform, owning everything from database schema design to responsive React interfaces that delight patients and clinicians alike.
- • Collaborate daily with product managers, designers, and clinicians in tight feedback loops to translate complex healthcare workflows into elegant, intuitive software that measurably improves patient outcomes.
- • Build and scale AI-driven services that power intelligent triage, predictive analytics, and personalized care recommendations, ensuring HIPAA-grade security and sub-second latency for millions of interactions.
- • Lead the migration of legacy monoliths to cloud-native microservices on AWS (EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB), reducing deployment time from hours to minutes and cutting infrastructure costs by 40 %.
- • Instrument every layer of the stack with observability best practices—OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, real-time alerting—so we detect and resolve issues before patients ever feel them.
- • Champion test-driven development, maintaining >85 % unit-test coverage and a robust CI/CD pipeline that ships to production multiple times per day with zero-downtime blue/green deployments.
- • Design HIPAA-compliant data pipelines that ingest and normalize HL7/FHIR feeds from 200+ provider systems, enabling real-time care coordination across hospitals, labs, and pharmacies.
- • Partner with our ML team to productionize PyTorch models that predict readmission risk within 3 % accuracy, integrating model-serving infrastructure that scales elastically with demand.
- • Contribute to our open-source initiatives, releasing libraries that help the broader healthcare-tech community adopt modern standards like FHIR R4 and US Core profiles.
- • Mentor junior engineers through pair programming, architecture reviews, and career-growth plans, fostering a culture of continuous learning and psychological safety.
- • Participate in a lightweight on-call rotation (one week every eight) with automated runbooks and compassionate post-mortems that turn incidents into shared knowledge.
- • Shape our technical roadmap by evaluating emerging technologies—Rust for high-performance services, WebAssembly for secure browser compute, or confidential computing for ultra-sensitive data.
- • Work directly with clinicians in user-shadowing sessions to understand pain points, then rapidly prototype solutions that reduce documentation time by 30 % and increase patient face-time.
- • Own the full incident lifecycle—from detection to root-cause analysis—ensuring that every outage becomes a durable improvement in system resilience and team knowledge.
- • Drive accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA) so our platform is usable by patients with diverse abilities, partnering with advocacy groups to validate inclusive design decisions.
- • Contribute to quarterly OKRs that balance ambitious product goals with engineering excellence, ensuring we ship fast without accruing technical debt that slows future innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of production experience with TypeScript/Node.js or Python in a cloud-native, microservices environment.
- • Proven track record designing and shipping HIPAA-compliant systems that handle PHI at scale.
- • Deep fluency in React or a comparable modern frontend framework, with a portfolio of accessible, responsive UIs.
- • Hands-on expertise with AWS (EKS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB) and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CDK.
- • Nice-to-have: experience with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR), clinical workflows, or AI/ML model deployment.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary plus meaningful equity in a fast-growing, mission-driven company improving healthcare access for millions.
- • Fully remote-first culture with quarterly in-person gatherings in San Francisco—travel and accommodation covered.
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance for you and dependents, plus a $1,000 annual wellness stipend.
- • 20 days PTO, 12 company holidays, and a 4-week paid sabbatical after four years to recharge and pursue personal goals.
