Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Design and implement end-to-end worker onboarding workflows that guide healthcare professionals from app download to completing their first shift, ensuring seamless identity verification, credential submission, and payment setup.
- • Build and maintain systems that parse, extract, and validate critical worker documents—including nursing licenses, tuberculosis test results, and background check reports—while adhering to state-specific compliance regulations.
- • Develop backend infrastructure in Node.js and NestJS to handle high-volume document processing at scale, integrating with MongoDB and PostgreSQL to store and manage structured and unstructured worker data.
- • Collaborate on frontend improvements using React and Ionic to enhance the mobile onboarding experience, leveraging existing UI components to reduce friction in document upload and profile completion steps.
- • Own technical decisions for features that require deep understanding of compliance logic, regulatory requirements, and data validation rules across multiple U.S. states.
- • Identify and resolve pain points in the worker journey by analyzing user behavior, identifying drop-off points in onboarding, and implementing solutions that improve completion rates.
- • Work cross-functionally with product, operations, and compliance teams to translate regulatory requirements into technical specifications and ensure systems meet legal and operational standards.
- • Contribute to the full stack by writing clean, maintainable TypeScript code across frontend, backend, and mobile interfaces, with an emphasis on scalability, reliability, and user-centered design.
- • Participate in peer code reviews, technical design discussions, and iterative product development cycles aligned with an async, remote-first workflow.
- • Proactively monitor system performance and reliability of credential validation pipelines, implementing alerts and automation to reduce manual intervention and errors.
- • Advocate for the end-user by centering the needs of healthcare workers—many of whom access the app on mobile devices during limited breaks—when designing workflows, error messages, and user feedback loops.
- • Ensure all systems uphold security and privacy standards when handling sensitive personal and professional documentation, aligning with industry best practices for data protection.
- • Support the team’s mission of enabling financial stability for healthcare workers by removing technical barriers that prevent timely activation and employment.
- • Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and onboarding processes for new engineers joining the Action team, fostering a culture of clarity and ownership.

- • Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment and thrive in async communication workflows
- • Customer-centric mindset with a track record of shipping features that improve real user outcomes
