Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Support the expansion of Clipboard Health into new verticals including Home Health, Dental, and Hospitals by building and evolving product infrastructure tailored to each market’s unique needs.
- • Evaluate existing system components to determine what can be reused versus what must be architected from scratch when entering new healthcare verticals.
- • Make high-impact architectural decisions under uncertainty, using experimentation and data to guide choices rather than waiting for perfect information.
- • Collaborate directly with operations and go-to-market teams to receive rapid feedback on product launches and iterate quickly based on real-world performance.
- • Work across the full technology stack to deliver end-to-end features, including backend services, APIs, data models, and infrastructure deployments.
- • Develop and maintain services using Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, MongoDB, Postgres, Redis, and AWS services including ECS and Terraform.
- • Prioritize product outcomes by focusing on whether new verticals are delivering real value to customers, not just technical completion.
- • Participate in a remote-first, async-first engineering culture that values real-world problem-solving over resume-based assumptions.
- • Contribute to a take-home assessment process that mirrors actual engineering tasks at Clipboard, including code reviews and system design challenges.
- • Navigate fast-paced environments where ambiguity is common and decisions must be made with incomplete data to drive rapid growth.
- • Balance speed and quality by shipping iterative solutions that can be tested and refined quickly in live markets.
- • Own the technical lifecycle of new vertical launches — from initial proof-of-concept to scalable production deployment.
- • Engage in continuous learning by working alongside cross-functional teams to understand healthcare workflows, regulatory constraints, and customer pain points in emerging markets.
- • Maintain a strong product mindset by measuring success through user adoption, operational efficiency, and market traction, not just code output.
- • Adapt technical approaches based on feedback from frontline teams working directly with healthcare professionals and care facilities.
- • Contribute to a culture of experimentation where failure is a learning tool, not a setback, and rapid iteration is prioritized over perfection.
- • Ensure system reliability and scalability as new verticals scale from pilot to nationwide rollout.
- • Communicate technical trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders in operations and marketing to align engineering efforts with business goals.
- • Stay grounded in Clipboard’s mission: enabling financial stability for healthcare workers and improving access to essential care across the U.S.
🎯 Requirements
- • Experience working across the full stack in production environments
- • Proficiency with Node.js, TypeScript, and modern backend frameworks like NestJS
- • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure on AWS (ECS, Terraform)
- • Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with incomplete information
- • Demonstrated ability to make architectural decisions based on experimentation and customer feedback
- • Product-oriented mindset focused on outcomes and real-world user impact
🏖️ Benefits
- • Remote-first work environment with a fully distributed team across the U.S.
- • Profitable company with stable financial footing since 2022
- • Opportunity to shape new business verticals from zero to production
- • Async-first communication culture that respects deep work and flexibility
