- • As a Software Engineer on the Trip Platform team at Waymo, you will play a critical role in building and scaling the core infrastructure that enables autonomous ride-hailing and delivery services for both first-party and third-party partners, directly contributing to broader access to Waymo’s self-driving technology and safer mobility.
- • Day to day, you will implement and scale backend systems for trip management, design and maintain partner-facing APIs for ride-hailing scenarios (including trip requests, pickup/dropoff timing, and pricing calculations), collaborate with external partners to integrate Waymo’s technology into their platforms, and leverage Google’s internal technologies such as OnePlatform API, Borg, Spanner, and Flume to solve complex distributed systems challenges.
- • You will join the TaaS (Transportation as a Service) team within Waymo, which is responsible for creating seamless user experiences and sustainable business models around the Waymo Driver, focusing on growth, territory expansion, service quality, marketplace dynamics, and B2B/B2C monetization strategies.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in large-scale, low-latency distributed systems, gain hands-on experience with Google’s proprietary infrastructure, and develop domain knowledge in autonomous mobility and transportation networks—positioning you at the forefront of innovation in self-driving technology and its real-world applications.
🎯 Requirements
- • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- • 3+ years of experience programming in backend coding languages
- • Experience in building backend applications and API
