- • As a Software Engineering Engineer II at Fair Isaac Corporation (FICO), you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our enterprise platform by building and maintaining scalable, high-quality Angular components. This role is pivotal in enhancing the user experience for our platform users through the development of modern, micro-frontend-based user interfaces.
- • You will be responsible for constructing and sustaining robust, scalable Angular components that adhere strictly to the FICO Design System. This ensures consistency, maintainability, and a cohesive user experience across all FICO products.
- • A key aspect of your contribution will be to implement pages and features for the FICO Platform, leveraging your expertise in Angular, HTML, CSS, and FICO's proprietary IRIS Angular components. This involves translating design mockups and product requirements into functional, user-friendly interfaces.
- • You will play a supportive role for other teams implementing micro-frontends with IRIS. This includes sharing best practices, providing guidance, and ensuring the overall quality and integration of these micro-frontend solutions.
- • Collaboration is central to this role. You will work closely with Product Design, Architecture, Engineering, Product Management, and Marketing teams. This cross-functional partnership ensures that the components you build align with overarching business goals, design standards, and user needs.
- • You will actively participate in IRIS office hours, offering hands-on support and technical expertise to both internal developers and external customers who are utilizing the IRIS framework.
- • Knowledge sharing is highly valued. You will contribute to the team's collective knowledge base through thorough code reviews and engaging in technical discussions, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
- • This position offers a unique opportunity to enhance the developer experience by building tools and frameworks. Specifically, you may develop Nx generators and executors to streamline common development tasks and enforce best practices.
- • There is also an opportunity to explore and implement the backend-for-frontend (BFF) pattern, writing BFFs in Node.js to optimize communication between micro-frontends and backend services.
- • You will contribute to the performance and organizational structure of the IRIS component library and the main frontend repository. This involves optimizing code, managing dependencies, and ensuring efficient build processes.
- • Staying informed about emerging frontend technologies is crucial. You will continuously enhance your skills, focusing on areas that improve developer efficiency, application performance, and overall scalability.
- • You will actively contribute to FICO's engineering growth-oriented culture. This involves participating in technical discussions, advocating for clean and maintainable code, and mentoring junior engineers.
- • A strong understanding of modern CSS, including Flexbox, Grid, CSS animations, and pre-processors like SCSS, will be beneficial for creating visually appealing and responsive interfaces.
- • Familiarity with accessibility standards and practices, such as WCAG, is a plus, ensuring that the applications developed are usable by everyone.
- • Knowledge of backend technologies like Node.js, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and gRPC, and how they integrate with frontend applications, will be advantageous for building comprehensive solutions.
- • The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality software that drives business value and enhances customer satisfaction.
