📋 Description

• Lead the design and evolution of product architecture across backend, frontend, and AI-powered services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability of production systems.
• Contribute directly to the codebase as a hands-on engineer, writing and reviewing code across the stack to drive technical excellence.
• Build and scale APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems that support lending, payments, risk, customer support, and internal operations.
• Design solutions that balance performance, reliability, maintainability, and speed of delivery in high-traffic production environments.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data, and Operations teams to align technical execution with business goals.
• Help define and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and code quality guidelines across the engineering team.
• Drive the adoption of AI capabilities into real-world products, including agent-based systems, automation workflows, and intelligent user experiences.
• Support the design and implementation of AI-powered systems leveraging LLMs, tool calling, RAG architectures, and conversational interfaces.
• Mentor engineers to raise the technical bar, foster growth, and promote a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
• Operate and monitor distributed systems using cloud platforms such as AWS, ensuring high availability and observability.
• Integrate third-party services and manage dependencies in a secure, scalable, and resilient manner.
• Work with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, to design efficient data models and optimize query performance.
• Implement asynchronous communication patterns and distributed system architectures to handle complex, high-volume workflows.
• Balance technical excellence with business needs in a fast-moving environment where ideas rapidly transition to production.
• Shape how AI capabilities are integrated into financial products used by thousands of customers across lending, payments, risk, and operations.
• Maintain strong ownership over technical decisions and deliverables, driving initiatives from concept to deployment with minimal oversight.

🎯 Requirements

• 9+ years of software development experience and 5+ years in technical leadership
• Strong backend and frontend development experience in production web applications
• Experience designing and operating microservice architectures and distributed systems
• Hands-on experience building products that leverage LLMs, agents, automation, or AI-powered workflows
• Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and cloud platforms (AWS)
• Fluent English communication skills
