- • The Software License Analyst at GDIT plays a critical role in managing software license compliance, optimization, and data integrity using the ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) application, ensuring accurate license positions and supporting audit readiness to drive cost savings and regulatory adherence.
- • Day to day, the analyst performs software license reconciliation, analyzes effective license position (ELP), maintains license entitlements and contracts, supports vendor compliance (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, IBM), collaborates with ITAM, procurement, and technical teams, generates reports and dashboards, tracks KPIs, and assists in audit defense and license reclamation activities.

- • In this role, the individual will develop expertise in ServiceNow SAM, ITAM best practices, software licensing models, and enterprise asset management, while contributing to process improvements, audit readiness, and cost optimization initiatives that support federal mission success.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience
- • 3+ years of experience in Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management, or license administration
- • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM (or similar SAM tools)
- • Basic understanding of software licensing models and compliance concepts
- • Experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro and knowledge of ITIL and ITAM frameworks
- • Familiarity with major vendor licensing (Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, IBM) and experience with ServiceNow Discovery and CMDB (preferred)
