Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Lead the end-to-end delivery of 5–15 MW Community Solar and Commercial & Industrial solar portfolios—ground-mount, rooftop, and carport—spanning more than ten U.S. markets from Denver, Chicago, or Baltimore (remote considered).
- • Own the project lifecycle from Notice-to-Proceed through Commercial Operations Date (COD): review contracts, drawings, and specs to lock scope, schedule, and budget; translate redlines into executable construction plans that keep subcontractors, utilities, and internal teams aligned.
- • Build and maintain master schedules in MS Project or Primavera P6, applying CPM logic, Gantt charts, and resource-loaded forecasts to hit every milestone; update weekly and present risk-adjusted scenarios to finance, development, and asset-management stakeholders.
- • Drive safety and quality culture on every site—conduct daily subcontractor check-ins, enforce OSHA 30 standards, chair pre-task planning meetings, and close non-conformance reports within 24 hours to achieve zero-recordable goals.
- • Manage budgets up to $25 M per portfolio: approve invoices, track earned-value, negotiate change orders, and control cash-flow to protect 5–10 % gross-margin targets while still accelerating COD by an average of 10 %.
- • Coordinate interconnection with utility engineers, witness testing, commissioning agents, and AHJs to secure final PTO; shepherd projects through witness testing, SCADA cut-over, and performance testing to meet contractual PR guarantees.
- • Serve as the single point of contact for owners, tax-equity partners, and construction lenders; prepare data-room deliverables—permits, lien waivers, insurance certificates, and as-builts—to enable funding draws and final asset transfer.
- • Mentor junior coordinators and field engineers, delegating RFIs, submittals, and punch-list management while providing on-the-job training in solar-specific means and methods, NEC 690 compliance, and NABCEP best practices.
- • Champion continuous improvement: after each COD, facilitate a cross-functional “lessons learned” workshop, document root-cause analyses, and embed findings into future estimates, schedules, and subcontractor bid packages.
- • Travel up to 25 % to project sites across Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, and emerging markets; leverage drone imagery, GIS, and mobile reporting apps to keep remote stakeholders informed in real time.
- • Partner with pre-construction during the sales phase—review geotechnical reports, environmental site assessments, and interconnect studies to validate design assumptions, refine CAPEX/OPEX models, and de-risk proposals before LOI execution.
- • Spearhead procurement logistics: issue POs for modules, inverters, racking, and BOS materials; track factory lead-times, coordinate just-in-time deliveries, and maintain inventory buffers to prevent critical-path delays.
- • Prepare and present monthly executive dashboards that translate complex construction metrics—SPI, CPI, RFI aging, and safety TRIR—into concise, decision-ready insights for C-suite and investors.
- • Foster a culture aligned with Pivot’s B-Corp values—impact, balance, determination, professionalism, honesty, and kindness—by integrating ESG considerations into every subcontractor selection and community-engagement event.
