Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end Workday architecture for Altera’s next-generation HR technology stack. You will translate complex business requirements into elegant, scalable Workday designs that power a global workforce of innovators.
- • Lead discovery workshops with HR, Finance, IT, and executive stakeholders to map current-state processes, surface pain points, and define future-state visions. Your ability to listen, synthesize, and re-articulate needs into technical blueprints will set the tone for every successful implementation.
- • Design and document comprehensive Workday solutions spanning HCM, Advanced Compensation, Payroll, Time Tracking, Benefits, and Recruiting modules. Your architecture diagrams, data-flow maps, and integration specs will become the single source of truth for developers, testers, and change-management teams.
- • Configure Workday tenants from the ground up—security domains, business processes, calculated fields, custom reports, EIBs, and Workday Studio integrations—ensuring every click aligns with industry best practices and Altera’s stringent security standards.
- • Orchestrate phased deployments across multiple U.S. locations (CA, AZ, TX, MA, OR, WA) while coordinating remote teams in Agile sprints. You will run daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retros, keeping 20+ cross-functional contributors aligned on scope, timeline, and quality.
- • Provide hands-on guidance during data migration and conversion. You will map legacy HRIS fields to Workday objects, author transformation rules, and validate 100k+ employee records with zero tolerance for data loss or corruption.
- • Build and deliver role-based training curricula for HR administrators, managers, and end-users. From quick-reference cards to interactive sandbox labs, your materials will accelerate adoption and reduce post-go-live support tickets by 30%.
- • Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues—debugging calculated-field errors, tuning integrations for sub-second response times, and advising on regulatory compliance (SOX, GDPR, CCPA) as it impacts Workday configuration.
- • Champion continuous improvement by monitoring system KPIs, analyzing user feedback, and proposing quarterly enhancements. Your roadmap will balance quick-win automations with strategic investments in AI-driven talent insights.
- • Collaborate with Altera’s cybersecurity and InfoSec teams to embed zero-trust principles into every Workday touchpoint—SSO, MFA, role-based permissions, and field-level encryption—safeguarding sensitive employee data across global jurisdictions.
- • Present executive-level dashboards that translate technical metrics into business impact: reduced time-to-hire, increased merit-cycle efficiency, and real-time workforce cost visibility. Your storytelling will secure ongoing investment in HR technology.
- • Contribute to Altera’s Center of Excellence by publishing configuration patterns, reusable integrations, and governance playbooks. Your intellectual capital will scale beyond a single project, influencing how Workday evolves across the enterprise.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of combined experience designing, configuring, and implementing Workday solutions
- • Proven expertise in at least one Workday module (HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Payroll, Time Tracking, Benefits) with Advanced Compensation strongly preferred
- • Demonstrated success leading full-lifecycle Workday projects from discovery through deployment and hyper-care
- • Deep knowledge of Workday data integration tools (EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio) and enterprise security frameworks
- • Exceptional communication skills—ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical executives and HR stakeholders
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote contract role with flexible hours across U.S. time zones
- • Competitive compensation range of $91.8K – $132.9K plus performance-based incentives
- • Opportunity to shape the HR technology strategy of a global leader in programmable logic solutions
- • Access to Altera’s cutting-edge AI and FPGA innovation ecosystem for continuous learning and career growth
