- • As a Solution Architect specializing in Zuora at Twilio, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of communications technology by architecting and leading the delivery of critical financial platforms. This pivotal role sits within the Enterprise Applications Development & Operations organization, where you will be the strategic owner and hands-on architect for Twilio’s Quote-to-Cash (Q2C) ecosystem. Your expertise will span across Billing, Accounts Receivable (AR), Collections, Cash Application, and Revenue Recognition, ensuring these systems are robust, scalable, and compliant as Twilio continues its rapid growth through acquisitions, evolving pricing models, and global expansion.
- • You will own the end-to-end architecture for the entire Billings-to-Cash and Revenue platforms. This includes deep dives into Zuora Billing, Zuora Revenue (adhering to ASC 606 standards), ERP accounting flows (specifically Oracle Cloud AR and Revenue Management), payment gateways, tax engines, and all downstream reporting systems. Your architectural designs must support a complex array of business needs, including subscriptions, usage-based billing, intricate pricing strategies, amendments, minimum commitments, and bundled offerings, ensuring the solutions are not only functional but also highly scalable and resilient.
- • Acting as the primary architecture authority for all Q2C-related changes, you will ensure strict alignment with ASC 606, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, audit requirements, and internal control frameworks. This involves meticulous planning and execution to maintain the integrity and compliance of Twilio's financial operations.
- • In terms of Delivery & Execution, you will lead crucial design workshops, solution walkthroughs, and architecture reviews, collaborating closely with business and finance stakeholders. Your ability to translate complex business requirements into robust functional and technical designs, complete with end-to-end scenario mapping and lucid flowcharts, will be essential. You will oversee the successful delivery of enhancements, transformations, and compliance initiatives across the Billing, AR, Revenue, and Cash processes.
- • A key aspect of this role is your proven ability to influence executive-level decision-making through real-time technical analysis and spontaneous problem-solving, adeptly navigating through ambiguity. You will drive critical system conversions, migrations, and the onboarding of acquired companies into the Q2C landscape, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.
- • Furthermore, you will ensure the high availability and operational excellence of production systems, implementing proactive monitoring strategies and leading swift issue resolution to maintain business continuity.
- • Regarding Integration & Automation, you will govern the complex web of integrations connecting Zuora with other critical systems such as Salesforce CPQ/CRM, Oracle ERP, tax engines, payment gateways, usage mediation platforms, and various reporting tools. You will champion the adoption of automation and straight-through processing across billing, invoicing, revenue recognition, and financial close processes, driving efficiency and reducing manual effort.
- • All integrations must adhere to enterprise integration standards, robust security controls, and stringent performance benchmarks, ensuring a secure and efficient data flow.
- • In the realm of Financial Close, Compliance & Reporting, you will be a key partner to Accounting and Finance teams, providing essential system support for month-end close activities, reconciliations, audits, and regulatory reporting. You will own system readiness for ASC 606 revenue accounting, deferred revenue management, allocations, and satisfaction events, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- • You will also enable scalable reporting and analytics capabilities, providing critical insights into Q2C KPIs, aging reports, revenue performance, and overall operational health.
- • As a leader, you will lead and mentor a high-performing team of application engineers and functional Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), fostering an environment of collaboration and continuous learning. You will influence without authority, setting clear expectations, defining career paths, and implementing development plans for your team members.
- • You will cultivate a culture of ownership, accountability, learning, and innovation, providing coaching and hands-on guidance to scale team capability and maturity.
- • In Stakeholder & Program Leadership, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across Finance, Accounting, IT, and Business functions. You will lead complex, cross-functional programs that span multiple teams, vendors, and geographies, effectively balancing competing priorities while maintaining exceptional delivery quality and stakeholder trust.
