- • Join Cloudera’s META Professional Services team as a Solutions Architect and become the trusted technical advisor for the largest enterprises across the Middle East, Turkey & Africa. You will architect and deliver massively scalable data platforms that turn petabytes of raw information into business-critical insight, directly influencing how global banks, telecoms, energy giants and government entities make decisions.
- • Own the end-to-end technical lifecycle of customer engagements: from pre-sales discovery workshops where you translate vague business wishes into concrete Hadoop, NiFi, Spark and streaming architectures, through large-scale cluster installation and hardening, to post-production optimisation that squeezes every last millisecond of performance out of multi-petabyte environments.
- • Design and implement secure, highly-available Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) and Cloudera Dataflow clusters that span on-prem data centres and multiple public clouds. You will author reference architectures, run capacity-planning models, select server and storage hardware based on ROI and performance benchmarks, and configure every layer—from HDFS replication factors to Kafka partition strategies—to withstand region-wide outages.
- • Lead hands-on installation and upgrade projects for advanced secured clusters, integrating Kerberos, LDAP/AD, TLS, Ranger, Atlas and Knox to satisfy the strictest regulatory and cyber-security mandates in the region. You will script repeatable builds with Ansible, Puppet or Chef and leave customers with fully automated CI/CD pipelines for future cluster evolution.
- • Analyse complex distributed production deployments using Spark history servers, YARN timelines, NiFi bulletins and OS-level profilers, then present clear optimisation roadmaps that reduce job runtimes, cut cloud egress costs and improve data freshness SLAs. Your recommendations often translate into millions of dollars in saved infrastructure or reclaimed analyst productivity.
- • Produce crisp technical documentation—architecture blueprints, run-books, knowledge-base articles and blog posts—that upskill customer teams and become go-to references inside Cloudera’s global PS knowledge hub. You will also deliver brown-bag sessions and speak at regional meetups to evangelise best practices in big-data architecture.
- • Collaborate seamlessly with sales, product management, support and engineering to ensure every customer requirement is accurately captured, scoped and delivered. You will act as the voice of the customer back into Cloudera’s roadmap, influencing next-generation features in CDP, NiFi and streaming analytics.
- • Travel up to 75 % across the META region (KSA, UAE, Egypt, Turkey, South Africa and beyond) to run on-site workshops, command-centre style incident bridges and executive briefings. Your passport will fill quickly as you become the face of Cloudera’s technical excellence in some of the world’s most ambitious digital-transformation programmes.
- • Mentor junior consultants and customer architects, transferring deep know-how in Linux tuning, JVM profiling, network optimisation and security hardening so that every engagement leaves behind a self-sufficient, high-performing data team.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years in Information Technology and System Architecture, with at least 5 years in customer-facing Professional Services roles designing large-scale storage, data-centre or globally distributed solutions.
- • 5+ years designing and deploying 3-tier architectures or large-scale Hadoop/Spark clusters; hands-on experience with Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) or HDP and relevant certifications (HDPCA/HDPCD) strongly preferred.
- • Deep expertise in Linux enterprise environments, Java ecosystem debugging/monitoring tools, network configuration & optimisation, and enterprise security stacks (LDAP, AD, Kerberos, TLS, Ranger, Knox).
- • Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into technical architectures; experience with data-warehousing, ETL, data-integration patterns and stream-processing frameworks such as Kafka, NiFi, Flink or Spark Streaming.
