• • As a Solutions Architect at Genworth Financial, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape that empowers families to navigate the complexities of the aging journey with confidence. You will be instrumental in designing and overseeing the implementation of innovative solutions that not only align with our enterprise architecture but also drive forward our mission of providing compassionate, experienced guidance, products, and services to millions of policyholders.
• • This role is deeply embedded in the application software development lifecycle, offering technical support and developing intricate program logic for new applications. You will also be responsible for analyzing and modifying the logic within existing applications, with a particular focus on integration logic to support a Communications Center of Excellence (COE). Your fluency in processes spanning coding (application and database), testing, debugging, documentation, and implementation will be crucial for maintaining and enhancing our software applications.
• • You will be expected to understand and meet the rigorous demands of performance analysis, IT operational requirements, and regulatory scopes. This includes ensuring that integrated application components meet and exceed established expectations throughout the testing and deployment phases. A key aspect of your role will be to ensure that system and process improvements are not only successfully implemented but also rigorously reviewed and approved by the global architecture review board.
• • Your responsibilities will extend to creating comprehensive blueprints that define our business architecture, logical architecture, API designs, and data catalogs. These deliverables will serve as the foundational documentation for our technological strategies and implementations.
• • A significant part of your contribution will involve collaborating closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, and other key stakeholders. This collaboration is essential for translating high-level business requirements into detailed technical designs and specifications, ensuring that the solutions developed are both technically sound and business-aligned.
• • You will be tasked with verifying that all proposed and implemented solutions strictly adhere to established architectural principles, industry best practices, and internal standards. This oversight is critical for maintaining the integrity and consistency of our technology ecosystem.
• • Proactively identifying and mitigating technical issues and risks will be a core function. You will work closely with project teams to troubleshoot complex problems, ensuring that projects remain on track and that potential roadblocks are addressed effectively.
• • A forward-thinking approach is essential as you will evaluate emerging technologies and assess their potential impact and applicability to our enterprise architecture. This includes identifying opportunities to leverage new tools and methodologies to enhance our offerings and operational efficiency.
• • You will develop initiative-specific solutions by translating product backlogs into actionable, well-defined designs. This involves validating compliance with enterprise standards and strategically integrating emerging technologies to create cutting-edge solutions.
• • Furthermore, you will be responsible for creating intuitive navigation and information designs. This includes constructing prototypes, storyboards, and mockups to effectively communicate complex design concepts to business analysts and the Enterprise Architecture team. Developing graphic designs that clearly articulate the ideas promoted by the requirements will also be a key deliverable, ensuring a shared understanding across teams.
• • This role requires a strong understanding of software development methodologies, including waterfall, agile, prototyping, and rapid application development, to ensure flexibility and efficiency in project execution.
• • You will also be involved in directing and supervising third-party suppliers, ensuring they meet project requirements and application support needs, and establishing operational and process controls to measure and verify adherence to established procedures and audit controls.
• • Monitoring and managing Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and consistently exceeding customer expectations with large volumes of requests will be a critical performance indicator.
