- • Lead technical discussions with key prospects and customers to ensure seamless adoption of Vanta’s platform and maximize its potential for achieving their security goals.
- • Own the end-to-end technical relationship with customers during the pre-sales phase, including demonstrations, technical evaluations, and proof-of-concept engagements to drive deal velocity and increase win rates.
- • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Vanta’s product capabilities, integrations, configurations, partner ecosystem, and competitive landscape to effectively position the solution against alternatives.
- • Support customers throughout their trial process by providing guidance, troubleshooting technical hurdles, and ensuring successful onboarding to convert trials into paid customers.
- • Build custom product examples, technical documentation, playbooks, and other resources to empower customers and enable the sales team with scalable tools.
- • Collect and synthesize customer feedback on product functionality, pain points, and feature requests to inform product roadmap prioritization and improve product-market fit.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Customer Success teams to ensure a smooth transition from pre-sales to post-sales and alignment on customer outcomes.
- • Identify and help design new programs or processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the pre-to-post-sales handoff.
- • Stay current on cloud security trends, compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001), and evolving customer security needs to provide authoritative technical guidance.
- • Apply creative problem-solving to address unique customer architectures and tailor Vanta’s solution to diverse environments across AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.
- • Engage with customers through active listening, strategic dialogue, and technical depth to build trust and credibility as a trusted advisor.
- • Maintain strong organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent customer engagements, deadlines, and technical requirements in a fast-paced startup environment.
- • Demonstrate curiosity and responsible use of AI tools to enhance productivity, automate repetitive tasks, and improve the quality of customer interactions.
- • Contribute to a culture of teamwork, openness, creativity, and continuous improvement by sharing knowledge, mentoring peers, and embracing feedback.
- • Serve as a technical voice for the customer within the organization, influencing sales strategy and product development based on real-world use cases and market demands.
- • Participate in company-wide events, virtual team building activities, and learning sessions to foster connection and alignment across the distributed team.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of customer-facing, technical experience as a Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, or equivalent title
- • Proven B2B SaaS experience
- • Hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and cloud application architecture
- • Strong project management skills with ability to thrive in a startup environment lacking rigid structure
- • General knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python, Ruby, Bash, JavaScript) and willingness to expand proficiency
- • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship
