- • The Special Officer, Government Affairs role is pivotal to BJAK's hyper-growth trajectory, acting as the primary architect and executor of our regulatory roadmap. This position is responsible for securing all necessary licenses and approvals, ensuring BJAK can achieve its business objectives and successfully enter new markets across Southeast Asia and beyond. You will be the key liaison, influencing policy and negotiating critical terms with high-level government officials and regulators, translating our ambitious expansion plans into a proactive, compliant, and scalable regulatory strategy.
- • As a strategic advisor to our C-suite leadership, you will anticipate regulatory risks, identify potential challenges before they materialize, and develop robust solutions to ensure seamless operations and market entry. This role demands a proactive, strategic, and diplomatic approach to navigate complex governmental landscapes.
- • Key responsibilities include leading high-stakes interactions with government and regulatory bodies. This involves skillfully negotiating license terms and advocating for policy positions that align with and support BJAK's aggressive growth agenda. You will be instrumental in shaping the environment in which we operate, ensuring our innovative business models are supported by appropriate regulatory frameworks.
- • You will develop and execute comprehensive regulatory strategies for new market entries and high-priority projects throughout Southeast Asia. This includes managing multi-agency approvals from initial application through to final issuance, ensuring all processes are handled efficiently and effectively.
- • The role also encompasses owning the end-to-end lifecycle management of all required licenses and operating permits. This means ensuring timely renewals, maintaining impeccable compliance records, and establishing proactive compliance mechanisms across the entire organization.
- • A critical aspect of this position is the continuous monitoring and interpretation of complex regulatory changes on a global scale. You will translate the impact of new legislation and evolving regulatory landscapes into clear, actionable strategic advice and implementation plans for senior leadership, ensuring BJAK remains agile and ahead of regulatory curves.
- • You will foster close partnerships with our Legal, Product, and Leadership teams. Your collaboration will be essential in embedding regulatory requirements seamlessly into our business planning processes and day-to-day operational execution, ensuring compliance is a foundational element of our strategy.
- • Representing BJAK at industry forums, government consultations, and public policy discussions will be a key function. This will involve enhancing our company's reputation as a credible, responsible, and forward-thinking market disruptor, building trust and fostering positive relationships with key stakeholders.

🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in Government Relations, Regulatory Affairs, or Licensing, preferably within a multi-jurisdictional environment.
- • Proven track record of successfully leading the strategic negotiation of regulatory outcomes and managing complex, multi-agency government approvals.
- • Deep knowledge of government licensing and regulatory frameworks in Malaysia, with demonstrable experience navigating and securing approvals in new international markets.
- • Exceptional relationship-building, negotiation, and diplomatic skills, with a proven ability to engage effectively with high-level government officials and regulators.
- • Strong strategic thinking, risk advisory capabilities, and the ability to translate complex regulatory landscapes into actionable business strategies.
- • Bachelor's degree in Law, Public Administration, Political Science, International Relations, or a closely related field is required.
