đź“‹ Description

  • • The Special Projects Lead at the Sei Development Foundation is a pivotal role designed to act as the strategic right-hand and operational force multiplier for the Executive Director (ED/COO). This position is crucial for ensuring the organization runs with maximum efficiency, that strategic priorities are consistently aligned across all teams, and for managing the essential connective tissue work that bridges different functional areas. As a trusted partner and core member of the executive team, the Special Projects Lead will gain broad visibility into the foundation's strategic objectives, cross-functional execution, and overall organizational alignment. This role is fundamentally about owning process, establishing a consistent operational rhythm, and ensuring diligent follow-through on initiatives, thereby empowering other leaders to focus on their respective domains.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities will encompass a wide range of strategic and operational tasks. The Special Projects Lead will meticulously own the ED's agenda, which involves preparing comprehensive briefings, conducting in-depth analyses, curating pre-read materials, and ensuring timely follow-up actions for all critical meetings. In situations where appropriate, the individual will serve as a proxy for the ED in internal discussions and cross-functional meetings, representing the executive's perspective and driving alignment. A key aspect of the role is tracking and actively driving the completion of ED-level priorities, translating high-level strategic directives into concrete action plans with measurable outcomes, and ensuring these objectives are met across the organization. Furthermore, the Special Projects Lead will be responsible for drafting both internal and external communications on behalf of the ED, ensuring clarity, consistency, and professional representation.
  • • Operational rigor and cross-functional alignment are central to this position. The Special Projects Lead will be tasked with designing and maintaining the organization's operating rhythms, which includes overseeing planning cycles, managing project trackers, facilitating executive updates, and implementing robust follow-up mechanisms to ensure accountability. Leading cross-functional initiatives from their initial conception through to successful execution will be a core duty, requiring close coordination across various departments and with diverse stakeholders. Proactively identifying organizational gaps, pinpointing process inefficiencies, and recognizing potential risks are essential, followed by the implementation of effective solutions. A critical function is to ensure that decisions made during leadership discussions are meticulously documented, clearly communicated to all relevant parties, and rigorously followed through to completion.
  • • In terms of organizational influence and communication, the Special Projects Lead will act as a central hub for information flow and alignment. This involves ensuring that decisions and priorities are disseminated clearly and consistently throughout the organization, fostering a shared understanding and unified direction. Cultivating strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders is paramount to fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring smooth operational flow. The role also involves taking ownership of special projects and time-sensitive initiatives that may not have a clear functional home, requiring the ability to operate with autonomy, discretion, and sound judgment. This includes leading high-impact, high-visibility projects that are critical to the foundation's strategic goals.
  • • The Special Projects Lead will also contribute to people and culture initiatives. This includes supporting the onboarding process for senior hires, ensuring they are integrated effectively into the organization. Additionally, the role will play a part in maintaining team culture and communication norms, particularly important for a distributed, async-first team, helping to foster a cohesive and productive environment despite geographical separation. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn and grow by gaining deep insights into the strategic operations of a leading Layer 1 blockchain foundation, developing advanced project management and executive support skills, and contributing directly to the growth and success of the Web3 ecosystem.
  • • This position is based in New York City, requiring a strong on-site presence to facilitate close collaboration with the executive team and ensure seamless operational execution. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in driving strategic initiatives, optimizing operational processes, and ensuring the foundation achieves its ambitious goals in the rapidly evolving blockchain space. The role provides unparalleled exposure to executive decision-making and the opportunity to shape the operational framework of a cutting-edge technology organization.
