- • The Sr. Account Manager at Motorola Solutions plays a critical role in driving revenue and expanding market presence by managing strategic relationships with public safety agencies across New Mexico and El Paso, TX. This position is vital to advancing the company’s mission of building safer communities through mission-critical communications technology, software, and services.
- • The role involves owning the full sales lifecycle for target accounts, from initial engagement to long-term partnership development, ensuring alignment between customer needs and Motorola Solutions’ portfolio of radio, video, software, and emerging technologies.
- • As a trusted advisor, the Sr. AM influences technology procurement decisions by deeply understanding public safety operations and translating technical capabilities into mission-enhancing value for police, fire, emergency management, and municipal leadership.
- • This position operates within a dedicated team focused exclusively on the New Mexico territory, collaborating closely with internal sales specialists, channel partners, and executive sponsors to deliver integrated solutions that meet complex agency requirements.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and executing comprehensive sales plans tailored to each target account’s unique buying center and budget cycles.
- • The Sr. AM actively engages key stakeholders — including Radio Technicians, Police and Fire Chiefs, CIOs, administrators, and elected officials — to uncover pain points, influence funding priorities, and position Motorola Solutions as the preferred technology partner.
- • They assemble cross-functional teams of internal experts and external partners to assess needs, design solutions, and present compelling value propositions that address operational challenges.
- • Proactively identifying and pursuing large-scale, multi-product opportunities is central to the role, requiring foresight in bundling communications, video security, software platforms, and services into cohesive proposals.
- • The Sr. AM leads and motivates channel partners in joint selling efforts, ensuring consistent messaging and coordinated pursuit of deals within shared territories.
- • They maintain regular engagement with Motorola Solutions executive sponsors to secure strategic support, align on long-term goals, and unlock access to executive-level conversations within customer organizations.
- • Developing and managing preferred procurement vehicles (such as cooperative purchasing agreements or state contracts) enables faster, broader deployment of solutions across multiple agencies within the territory.
- • Continuous learning is essential — the Sr. AM must rapidly grasp evolving product features, use cases, and integration capabilities to articulate clear business outcomes and ROI to technical and non-technical audiences alike.
- • Success in this role is measured by quota attainment, pipeline health, customer satisfaction, and the depth of relationships built with decision-makers who influence public safety technology investments.
- • Over time, the incumbent will develop deep expertise in public safety technology trends, government procurement processes, and strategic account management — positioning them for advancement into regional leadership or specialized sales roles within Motorola Solutions’ growing public safety business.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of sales or public safety experience, OR 8+ years of sales/public safety experience
- • Previous outside sales experience selling solutions into government organizations, preferably within public safety or municipal sectors
- • Demonstrated ability to learn and communicate the value of complex high-tech solutions, including software applications, integrations, and deployment use cases
