- • The Sr Analyst, Data Integration & Workflows is a senior technical leader within S&P Global's Data AI & Enablement organization, responsible for designing, implementing, and operationalizing production-grade data pipelines and workflow automation that power S&P DJI's index and analytical solutions.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include leading complex data integration initiatives from design to production, designing and implementing batch and streaming data pipelines with robust error handling and validation, establishing engineering best practices for ETL/ELT and workflow orchestration, driving technical decisions on architecture and technology selection, and partnering with Product Planning & Development (PPD) on feasibility and scope.
- • The role involves hands-on enablement with subject matter experts (SMEs) through pair programming and co-development, assessing SME technical readiness, building reusable automation components, developing SME capabilities via coaching and code reviews, and creating technical documentation for reference architectures and coding standards.
- • The position ensures quality and production readiness by conducting code reviews, implementing data reliability controls, engineering observability and monitoring solutions, preparing IT-ready handover artifacts, and partnering with IT during QA and deployment to meet enterprise standards for security and supportability.
- • The role drives operational excellence by providing L3 support for production issues, optimizing pipeline performance and cost, implementing workflow orchestration patterns, capturing lessons learned to update engineering playbooks, and monitoring operational metrics related to reliability, data quality, performance, and cost efficiency.
- • Collaboration spans the Data Integration Lead, AI Solutions, Data Governance, Data Value Streams, Data Services & Strategy, IT, and PPD teams to align technical approaches, validate solutions, ensure infrastructure readiness, and establish scalable integration patterns with proper metadata and lineage tracking.
- • The Sr Analyst owns end-to-end delivery of high-complexity data integration projects, enforces technical standards, develops SME technical capabilities, ensures production readiness before handover, and drives success through delivering production-ready solutions, building SME capability, driving reusability, ensuring operational excellence, and fostering technical excellence.
- • Success is measured by KPIs including solution delivery quality (first-pass QA pass rate, incident rate), SME capability development (skill improvement via assessments and code reviews), and operational reliability (uptime, MTTR, data quality incident rates).
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
- • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data integration, or related technical roles with progressive responsibility
- • 3+ years of experience in technical leadership roles, including mentoring engineers and leading complex technical initiatives
- • Proficiency in ETL/ELT design patterns, data pipeline architecture, and workflow orchestration frameworks
- • Advanced programming skills in languages commonly used in data engineering (Python, SQL, Scala, or similar)
- • Solid understanding of data quality frameworks, validation techniques, reconciliation patterns, and anomaly detection
