📋 Description

• Sr Backend Engineer - AI role at SigNoz Inc., focusing on building the AI layer of the observability platform including Noz (AI teammate), MCP server, AI SRE, and LLM/GenAI observability.
• Day-to-day work involves agent orchestration, tool execution, API design for streaming results, building MCP servers for LLM agent access to observability data, handling long-running execution, security, streaming over SSE, tool calling, session state management, and implementing LLM/GenAI observability using OpenTelemetry.
• SigNoz is a fast-growing open-source observability platform with 27,000+ GitHub stars, 900+ customers, and an 8,000+ member Slack community, built natively on OpenTelemetry with self-hosted and cloud options to avoid vendor lock-in.
• The role offers the opportunity to define agent-native observability as a new category, work on a globally loved open-source project, collaborate with a high-caliber shipping team, and help shape the future of open-source observability in a remote-first, async-friendly environment.

🎯 Requirements

• 5-8 years building backend systems in production
• Strong with Go (concurrency, channels, performance) and async Python (FastAPI, Pydantic, asyncio)
• Experience building and shipping LLM features in production: agents, tool/function calling, evals, MCP, context and prompt engineering
• Experience building distributed systems while writing clean and scalable code
• Ability to drive initiatives end-to-end: problem discovery → design → implementation → rollout
• Strong communication skills, able to write clear tech docs and explain trade-offs
