- • Own the architecture and reliability of FutureFit AI’s most mission-critical integration: a bidirectional sync that keeps our AI-powered career guidance platform in lock-step with government workforce systems. You will design and ship fault-tolerant services that reconcile thousands of records per hour, surface discrepancies before they become support tickets, and scale to new jurisdictions without re-engineering.
- • Eliminate manual, repetitive work that slows our customer-success and support teams. You will build Lambda-driven automation that retries failed API calls, auto-heals bad data, and generates human-readable diagnostics—turning multi-hour investigations into one-click resolutions.
- • Establish the gold standard for integration observability. From CloudWatch custom metrics to distributed tracing with EventBridge and SQS, you will create dashboards and alerts that give engineers and non-technical staff the same real-time visibility into sync health.
- • Architect reusable patterns for future integrations. The async workflows, idempotency guards, and validation pipelines you craft for the flagship sync will become the template for onboarding Fortune-500 employers and additional government agencies in 2024 and beyond.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with customer success, policy, and external partners. You will translate regulatory requirements into technical specs, negotiate API changes with legacy-system vendors, and present impact reports that prove our platform is moving the needle on economic mobility.
- • Mentor and level-up the broader engineering team. Through design reviews, brown-bag sessions, and pair programming, you will spread best practices in serverless patterns, defensive coding, and operational excellence.
- • Drive a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement. Whether it’s introducing chaos testing for our sync pipelines or A/B testing new retry strategies, you will champion initiatives that keep our platform resilient as usage 10×.
- • Contribute to product strategy. Your on-the-ground insights from integration logs and partner feedback will shape roadmap decisions—helping us decide which new data sources, AI models, or compliance features to prioritize next.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5–8 years of backend or platform engineering, with demonstrable success building and maintaining complex third-party integrations at scale
- • Expert-level TypeScript/Node.js and production-grade AWS (Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, DynamoDB or MongoDB)
- • Proven ability to design idempotent, eventually consistent, event-driven workflows with robust error handling and observability
- • Experience wrangling government or legacy enterprise APIs where documentation is sparse and SLAs are strict
- • Comfortable in SQL and NoSQL datastores; able to write performant queries for both operational and analytical workloads
