- • As a Senior Backend Software Engineer in Video Engineering at Philo, you will design, implement, deploy, and monitor the next generation of Philo’s video streaming pipeline, directly impacting every video stream served to users and playing a critical role in delivering a high-quality TV experience.
- • Day to day, you will build scalable and resilient data pipelines for video and analytics ingestion, collaborate with content partners and internal teams (Ads, Client, Data) to optimize video quality and ad insertion, and drive improvements in reliability, performance, latency, and security of the video platform using cloud-native technologies.
- • You will join Philo’s Video Infrastructure team, a highly distributed and horizontally scalable group that leverages cloud computing, machine learning, and in-house transcoding systems to deliver video at exabyte scale across all major streaming platforms, working closely with cross-functional teams to shape the future of television.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in video streaming technologies, cloud architecture, and real-time systems while contributing to innovations in video quality optimization, Server-Side Ad Insertion (SSAI), and multi-screen playback experiences, with opportunities to mentor others and influence architectural decisions.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of software development experience
- • Proven track record building highly efficient and highly available software using Golang, Java, C++ or similar languages
- • Deep experience with concurrent programming and building highly available, high-throughput RESTful web services
- • Experience operating in cloud environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and modern deployment technologies
- • Demonstrated ability to own and drive complex architectural tasks to completion using Scrum/Agile methodologies
- • Experience working with large data sets and making data-based decisions, including familiarity with relational and non-relational databases and modern data warehousing
