Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Architect, deploy, and continuously optimize a hybrid-cloud ecosystem that spans Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, and on-premises data centers across four U.S. manufacturing sites (Minnesota, Idaho, Arkansas, Missouri). You will own the full stack—from IAM policies and SSO flows to SAN storage arrays and VMware clusters—ensuring 99.9 %+ uptime for mission-critical systems that keep ammunition flowing to law-enforcement, government, and sporting customers worldwide.
- • Lead the modernization of collaboration and productivity tooling: migrate, secure, and govern cloud email, messaging, file-sharing, and MDM platforms so that 2,000+ employees can work safely from any location. Your designs will balance user experience with defense-grade security, leveraging PKI, certificates, conditional access, and zero-trust principles.
- • Automate everything. Using PowerShell, Python, and Bash, you will build Infrastructure-as-Code pipelines that provision servers, patch OSs, rotate secrets, and scale capacity without human touch. Redundant tasks that once took hours will shrink to minutes, freeing the team for higher-value projects.
- • Own disaster-recovery and business-continuity planning. You will design multi-region failover strategies, orchestrate quarterly DR tests, and document run-books so that production can be restored in < 30 minutes—even if an entire facility is offline.
- • Provide Tier-3 operational support for Windows Server, Linux, SQL Server, IIS, Exchange, SCCM, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and VMware vSphere. You will triage escalations, perform root-cause analysis, and mentor junior engineers through complex troubleshooting sessions.
- • Harden the environment against threats. You will implement CIS baselines, manage vulnerability scans, coordinate emergency patching, and partner with cybersecurity to ensure NIST 800-171 and ITAR compliance across all endpoints and cloud workloads.
- • Manage and monitor SAN storage, backup appliances, and off-site replication. You will right-size LUNs, tune deduplication policies, and verify that every backup is restorable—because a lost batch record could shut down a production line.
- • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (one week in four) and respond to incidents 24/7. Your calm, methodical approach will keep stakeholders informed and systems stable—even when alerts fire at 3 a.m.
- • Document every process, diagram every network, and publish knowledge-base articles so tribal knowledge becomes institutional knowledge. Your writing will be clear enough for a new hire to rebuild a domain controller from scratch.
- • Collaborate with plant engineers, ERP teams, and OT security to integrate shop-floor systems with corporate IT. Your work will enable real-time production dashboards, predictive maintenance, and closed-loop quality analytics.
- • Champion change-management best practices aligned with ITIL. You will shepherd RFCs through CAB, assess risk, and communicate maintenance windows to global users—minimizing surprises and maximizing trust.
- • Travel up to 5 % to manufacturing sites for hardware refreshes, DR drills, and cross-functional workshops. When boots hit the ground, your presence will accelerate projects and strengthen relationships.
