- • As a Sr. Compensation Manager, reporting directly to the Head of Global Compensation, you will be instrumental in the strategic design, meticulous analysis, and effective administration of Lucid’s comprehensive compensation programs. This role is a key partnership with the broader HR team and business leaders, specifically supporting our Engineering, Strategy & Business Development, Program Management, and Supply Chain organizations. You will leverage your deep expertise in compensation to provide data-driven insights and consultative guidance, directly contributing to the achievement of business objectives within a dynamic, high-growth environment.
- • The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional possessing strong execution skills, a natural consultative mindset, and the proven ability to drive critical compensation initiatives forward. You will be a cornerstone in ensuring that Lucid’s compensation programs are not only competitive in the market but also equitable internally and strategically aligned with the company’s overarching goals and values.
- • You will lead complex compensation analyses and sophisticated modeling exercises to inform the strategic design of our programs, guide critical pay decisions, and ensure market competitiveness. This involves deep dives into compensation data, identifying trends, and developing recommendations that support Lucid’s talent strategy.
- • You will serve as a trusted advisor to HR Business Partners and business leaders, providing expert guidance on compensation decisions, pay equity assessments, and offer structuring. This requires a delicate balance of leveraging external market data while ensuring internal alignment and fairness.
- • You will co-own and meticulously manage the company-wide annual rewards cycle. This includes the comprehensive preparation, in-depth analytics, clear communication, and flawless execution of cyclical compensation planning processes, such as merit increases, promotion adjustments, and bonus payouts.
- • You will take ownership of compensation survey submissions, ensuring accuracy and completeness, and critically interpret the results to guide our competitive benchmarking efforts. This ensures our compensation packages remain attractive and aligned with industry standards.
- • You will own the evaluation and precise leveling of new and evolving roles within the organization, utilizing frameworks such as Radford or similar methodologies. This ensures a consistent and fair approach to job grading and compensation.
- • You will actively contribute to the ongoing evolution of our global compensation structures. This includes refining salary ranges, developing and implementing geographic differentials, and enhancing bonus plan designs to meet the needs of a growing global workforce.
- • You will foster strong collaboration across various HR functions, including Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, and People Operations, to ensure compensation programs are thoroughly understood and consistently applied throughout the organization.
- • You will provide essential subject matter expertise on critical compliance areas, including FLSA classifications, the development and maintenance of our job architecture, and wage & hour compliance, ensuring Lucid remains at the forefront of regulatory adherence.
- • You will take full ownership of compensation-related policies and documentation, actively contributing to the development and maintenance of robust governance standards that underpin our compensation practices.
- • This role is based onsite in our Newark, CA location, with the flexibility to work remotely 1-2 days per week, offering a blend of in-office collaboration and remote work.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of progressive experience in Compensation or Total Rewards, with a strong emphasis on program design, analysis, and administration.
- • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification is a significant plus.
- • Demonstrated ability to independently lead and execute complex compensation projects with minimal guidance, showcasing strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for complex data analysis and modeling, coupled with experience using HRIS and compensation management systems such as SuccessFactors, Workday, or Radford.
- • Strong consultative skills with a proven ability to build credibility and influence stakeholders across various functions and levels of the organization.
- • Experience with job evaluation methodologies (e.g., Hay, Mercer, Radford), market pricing techniques, and conducting internal equity analyses.

- • Competitive salary range: $136,300 - $199,870 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
