Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As a Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer at Cobot, you will design and scale the data backbone that powers real-time insights for next-generation robotics products, enabling humans to interact seamlessly with robotic fleets through systems like Vista and ScoutMap.
- • Your work will transform high-volume telemetry and 3D sensor data into trustworthy, low-latency analytics, directly impacting how customers monitor robot fleet status, facility readiness, and task execution in real time.
- • You will own the full ingestion path from edge devices to cloud storage, ensuring robot telemetry, sensor data, and warehouse events are reliably captured, transported via streaming and batch pipelines, and made available for downstream analytics and AI/ML systems.
- • You will design, build, and operate scalable data layers using technologies like Databricks, Delta Live Tables, and SQL Warehouse, implementing raw → staged → analytics-ready transformations that support both streaming and batch workloads with a focus on reliability and performance.
- • You will establish and maintain CI/CD practices for data infrastructure, enabling safe, repeatable deployment of schema changes, transformations, and infrastructure updates that analytics engineers depend on to ship metrics, marts, and dashboards efficiently.
- • You will implement observability, monitoring, and data quality checks using tools such as Great Expectations or Monte Carlo to detect pipeline failures, data drift, and ensure trust in data used by critical customer-facing features.
- • You will scale and optimize multi-tenant data infrastructure to balance performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency as Cobot’s customer base and data volume grow, making architectural decisions that support long-term scalability.
- • You will collaborate closely with robotics, AI/ML, product, and analytics teams to translate product requirements into resilient data systems that unlock new customer-facing features and enable faster innovation cycles.
- • You will establish and enforce best practices in data engineering, reliability, security, and CI/CD across ingestion, staging, and warehouse layers, creating a strong foundation that empowers analytics engineers to work autonomously and deliver value quickly.
- • You will operate in a fast-paced, collaborative, startup-like environment where autonomy, ownership, and cross-functional teamwork are valued, and where your contributions directly shape the future of human-robot interaction.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or data infrastructure roles
- • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with the ability to write production-quality, scalable, and well-tested code
- • Experience deploying and managing cloud data infrastructure in AWS using infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker)
🏖️ Benefits
- • Annual base salary range of $180,000–$215,000 plus equity
- • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision plans
- • 401(k) plan with company match
- • Unlimited paid vacation time and paid sick leave
- • Parental leave
- • Remote-friendly work options from select U.S. hubs (San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, Boston, Denver/Boulder, Pittsburgh)
- • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge robotics and AI systems that redefine human-robot interaction
