- • The Senior Data Operations Engineer at AffirmedRx PBC plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity, security, and flow of healthcare data across the organization’s data ecosystem, directly enabling accurate pharmacy benefit management and improved health outcomes for employers and patients.
- • This role serves as the primary technical bridge between raw client data and internal analytics systems, guaranteeing that data is properly mapped, validated, secured, and made accessible for decision-making—making it foundational to AffirmedRx’s mission of bringing clarity, integrity, and trust to pharmacy benefit management.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and maintaining secure client data gateways via SFTP, administering SharePoint file security and permissions to uphold HIPAA compliance, and ensuring complete data isolation for sensitive client information to protect privacy and meet regulatory standards.
- • The engineer builds and operationalizes automation scripts using Python and PowerShell to streamline file movements, implements proactive pipeline monitoring and automated data cleanup processes, and develops workflows and notifications using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) to reduce manual effort and increase reliability.
- • They map and ingest diverse data formats—including CSV, flat files, database files, EDI 834 enrollment, and EDI 835/837 claims—into the data warehouse, develop and optimize dbt models to transform raw claims and eligibility data, and prepare analytics-ready tables that support business intelligence, reporting, and operational decision-making.
- • A core function involves performing root-cause analysis on complex data discrepancies, identifying and resolving logic errors in accumulators, pharmacy claims, and eligibility files, and ensuring end-to-end data integrity across multiple pipelines and formats to maintain trust in downstream analytics.
- • The role requires clear, concise technical communication: providing guidance to internal teams, translating complex database errors into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders, and maintaining consistent collaboration across functions to support seamless data operations.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
- • 5+ years of progressive experience in data operations, data architecture, or related technical roles
- • 3+ years of specific experience in Healthcare or PBM environments, with hands-on work involving claims, eligibility, and accumulator data
- • Proficiency in Python, MSSQL, and PowerShell for automation and data analysis
- • Extensive experience with Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, and dbt for data warehousing and transformation
- • Expertise in secure file transfer protocols (SFTP/FTPS/HTTPS/MFT) and SharePoint administration for HIPAA-compliant data handling
