Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Architect and own the entire Google Cloud footprint for Awarded AI, the platform that is redefining how companies win government contracts. From day one you will be the primary driver behind a green-field GCP landing zone that must scale to thousands of tenants, petabytes of data, and the strictest federal compliance regimes.
- • Translate ambitious product road-maps into rock-solid infrastructure by designing VPC topologies, subnetting strategies, and private-service access patterns that isolate regulated workloads while still enabling rapid experimentation and AI model training.
- • Spin up, harden, and operate multiple GKE clusters (public, private, and Assured Workloads) using Terraform modules you author and maintain. You will codify everything—node pools, network policies, PodSecurityPolicies, OPA Gatekeeper constraints, and CMEK-encrypted disks—so that every change is peer-reviewed, version-controlled, and reproducible across dev, staging, and prod.
- • Build bullet-proof CI/CD and GitOps pipelines that deploy micro-services, ML models, and infrastructure changes in minutes, not hours. You will evaluate and integrate Cloud Build, Argo CD, or Flux, then layer in policy-as-code, image scanning (Trivy, Prisma), SBOM generation, and signed container attestations (SLSA level 3) to satisfy supply-chain security requirements.
- • Partner elbow-to-elbow with our Security & Compliance squad to map NIST 800-53 and FedRAMP controls to concrete cloud configurations. You will implement Access Transparency logs, VPC Service Controls, Cloud KMS CMEK, and Assured Workloads so that our SaaS can land in FedRAMP Moderate and CMMC Level 2 environments without re-engineering.
- • Define and instrument SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, and golden-signal dashboards in Cloud Monitoring. You will own on-call rotations, incident response playbooks, and post-mortems that turn outages into learning loops and continuously raise the bar for reliability.
- • Drive ruthless cost optimization by rightsizing clusters, leveraging committed-use discounts, and automating shutdown of non-production workloads. You will present monthly FinOps reviews to leadership showing exactly how infrastructure spend maps to customer value.
- • Craft clear, visual architecture diagrams and run internal “lunch-and-learn” sessions so that backend engineers, data scientists, and customer-success teams understand how the platform works and how to self-serve safely.
- • Provide occasional support for Azure-based BYOC deployments, sharing Terraform patterns and security controls so that enterprise customers can mirror our best practices in their own clouds.
- • Champion a culture of DevOps excellence: blameless post-mortems, chaos-engineering game-days, and continuous deployment with automatic rollback. Your influence will shape hiring, tooling choices, and engineering standards for years to come.
