- • As a Sr Director Analyst focused on AI Strategy, Leadership and Operating Models, you will serve as an industry thought leader creating must-have insights, market predictions, and best practices for world-leading organizations, establishing credibility as a trusted advisor to senior technology executives.
- • Day to day, you will create innovative and thought-provoking content, develop in-depth analysis to identify root causes of client barriers, demonstrate thought leadership across analyst teams, bring provocative insights to Gartner leadership, research and predict market trends, provide actionable advice via virtual and face-to-face interactions, deliver high-value presentations at events and client briefings, support sales teams as the voice of the market, conduct peer reviews, build credibility as an industry expert, mentor junior team members, and drive process improvements for service delivery.
- • You will join Gartner’s Business and Technology Insights (BTI) group, a global team of 20,000 analysts supporting over 13,000 client enterprises across 90 countries, where you will be part of a culture that values intellectual curiosity, inclusivity, and impact-driven work at the forefront of the AI revolution.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in AI-augmented software development and agentic systems, strengthen your executive presence and strategic communication skills, shape Gartner’s research agenda on AI strategy, mentor emerging talent, and position yourself as a recognized authority in AI leadership and operating models for global enterprises.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred
- • 12+ years of relevant field or industry experience
- • Proven software engineering leadership experience, having led large-scale, multi-team software delivery organizations with accountability for execution, quality and outcomes
- • Deep expertise in software engineering strategy and operating models, including roadmap planning, technology decision-making, talent management, team structures and organizational design and business stakeholder engagement
- • Hands-on expertise in AI-augmented software development, including embedding AI across the SDLC, leveraging AI to improve developer productivity and optimizing software delivery outcomes
- • Advanced knowledge of AI application development, including agentic solutions, model development, platform engineering and full-stack architectures for agentic systems
- • Recognized as an AI leader, with experience evaluating emerging AI technologies, vendors and solutions, driving AI experimentation and scaling AI/ML capabilities across the enterprise
- • Demonstrate executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholders
- • Demonstrate excellence in research and synthesis, with aptitude to translate practitioner insight into novel and actionable guidance for senior technology executives
- • Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions
- • Strong organizational skills with ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality deliverables
- • Proficient in analyzing and synthesizing data; can effectively apply patterns and frameworks while drawing and defending conclusions to client challenges
- • Strong communication skills - able to explain complex concepts concisely and simply
- • Subject matter expertise; comfortable presenting at large and small-scale speaking engagements
- • Strong business and financial acumen
- • Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within subject area as well as the interplay in that market
- • Ability to work independently, while also being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams and support the workflow of others, in a multicultural global team
- • Learning agile and adept with navigating highly matrixed environments
- • Ability to represent Gartner’s research methodology and strategies effectively at all levels
- • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% (where applicable)
