- • Serve as the primary adjuster for homeowner property and personal property claims in Northern California, handling claims from initial investigation through final settlement.
- • Conduct in-person and virtual inspections of damaged dwellings, other structures, and personal property to document loss extent and gather required evidence.
- • Utilize the Xactimate estimating system to prepare accurate repair bids and determine scope of repairs for homeowner claims.
- • Negotiate agreed-upon repair costs with insureds, Network Repair Program contractors, or the insured’s chosen contractors.
- • Investigate and identify the cause of loss with assistance from subject matter experts when necessary, ensuring thorough documentation and compliance.
- • Settle and pay dwelling or other structure damages after completing coverage analysis and confirming policy eligibility.
- • Manage all claim correspondence to ensure regulatory compliance and maintain accurate, audit-ready claim files.
- • Progress toward Level 5 Homeowner Adjuster competency standards as defined by company guidelines.
- • May be assigned to oversee, coordinate, and assign independent adjusters for complex or high-volume claims.
- • Travel locally within Northern California, including San Francisco, San Jose, and surrounding areas, to perform field inspections and meet with insureds or contractors.
- • Work primarily from home under a flexible remote-first model, with required in-person field visits and occasional office engagement.
- • Maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record, or provide alternative transportation capable of safely transporting heavy equipment between claim sites.
- • Handle moderate- to high-complexity homeowner claims independently, applying knowledge of insurance policies, repair methodologies, and claims procedures.
- • Ensure all claim activities align with company standards, state regulations, and industry best practices.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of related professional experience with transferrable skills
- • 4+ years of claims experience with preferred emphasis on homeowner claims
- • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree or higher may substitute for 2 years of experience
- • Knowledge of Xactimate repair estimating system
- • Knowledge of homeowner insurance policies and procedures
- • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record, or alternative transportation for transporting heavy equipment
