Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • As a Sr International Government Affairs Specialist at DexCom, you will play a critical role in shaping global policy landscapes that directly impact the company’s mission to advance continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology and improve health outcomes worldwide. Your work will ensure DexCom can operate effectively across international markets by anticipating regulatory shifts, advocating for patient-centered policies, and building strategic alliances with governments and international bodies.
  • You will lead the monitoring, analysis, and interpretation of international legislative and regulatory developments affecting DexCom’s global operations, including tracking changes in healthcare policy, medical device regulations, trade agreements, and data privacy laws across multiple jurisdictions.
  • You will manage and nurture relationships with key international government stakeholders, including ministries of health, regulatory agencies, trade associations, and policy influencers in regions such as Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and the Middle East to advance DexCom’s strategic priorities.
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams — including Legal, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Regulatory Affairs — to develop and execute cohesive advocacy strategies that align with DexCom’s global business objectives and ensure consistent messaging across jurisdictions.
  • You will design and deliver high-impact briefing materials, policy reports, and executive presentations for internal leadership and external audiences, including participation in international forums such as the World Health Organization (WHO), International Diabetes Federation (IDF), and regional health summits.
  • You will represent DexCom at international conferences, diplomatic meetings, and multilateral forums to build visibility, strengthen partnerships, and position the company as a trusted leader in digital health innovation.
  • You will ensure full compliance with international lobbying disclosure laws, foreign agent registration requirements (e.g., FARA in the U.S., EU Transparency Register), and ethical standards governing government engagement across all operating regions.
  • You will contribute to special projects requiring coordination between global government affairs, legal, and business units — such as market entry strategies, regulatory submissions, and public policy responses to emerging health crises.
  • You will provide timely, actionable insights to senior leadership on emerging global policy trends, geopolitical risks, and regulatory shifts that could impact DexCom’s product pipeline, pricing, reimbursement, or market access.
  • You will operate in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, remote-first environment, working across time zones and cultures with a high degree of autonomy, initiative, and cultural sensitivity to drive results in complex international settings.
  • About the team or company: DexCom is a NASDAQ-listed global leader in continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), transforming diabetes care through innovative biosensing technology. With over 25 years of innovation, the company is expanding beyond diabetes into broader consumer health technology, driven by a mission to empower people to take control of their health. The Government Affairs team is a strategic, policy-driven unit that works at the intersection of science, regulation, and global advocacy to protect and advance DexCom’s patient-centered mission.
  • What the person can learn or achieve in this role: You will deepen your expertise in global health policy, international regulatory affairs, and diplomatic engagement while gaining direct exposure to how cutting-edge medical technology intersects with global governance. You will build a prestigious professional network across governments, NGOs, and multinational organizations, and develop leadership skills in influencing policy at the highest levels — all while contributing to a mission that improves millions of lives daily through life-changing CGM technology.
