- • As a Senior IT Business Architect at CNO Financial Group, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological future of our organization by bridging the gap between business objectives and IT solutions. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to lead and support moderate to complex projects, focusing on defining critical business capabilities and meticulously analyzing problems or opportunities to drive strategic initiatives.
- • You will collaborate closely with Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), various business units, IT leaders, and product managers, contributing significantly to large-scale transformational projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in leveraging business architecture analytical tools to assess both the current state and the desired future state of our business capabilities, ensuring alignment with near-term and long-term business needs and challenges.
- • A key responsibility will be to ensure that our technology architecture seamlessly aligns with overarching business objectives, while also effectively managing project scope to deliver maximum value. You will serve as a crucial liaison between the IT department and business units, providing essential support to implementation teams and guiding the system scoping, estimation, and solutioning processes for both new systems and enhancements to existing ones.

- • Independently evaluate business technology requests of moderate complexity, leading the analysis required to define scope, sizing, and requirements for successful implementation. This involves a deep dive into understanding the business problem and translating it into technical specifications.
- • Formulate and define systems scope and objectives by conducting thorough research and fact-finding, combined with a nuanced understanding of applicable business solutions and specific business requirements. This ensures that solutions are not only technically sound but also directly address business needs.
- • Act as a key liaison among diverse stakeholders to elicit, organize, evaluate, and validate needs for changes to business workflows and information systems. This requires strong interpersonal and communication skills to ensure all voices are heard and considered.
- • Lead moderately to complex projects, creating essential artifacts such as process mapping, value chain mapping, conceptual design specifications, and use case documents with minimal direct supervision. This demonstrates a high level of autonomy and expertise.
- • Develop and maintain critical business architecture views, including capability heatmaps, value stream analysis, high-level business context diagrams, and information mapping documents. You will also perform root cause analysis to identify underlying issues and opportunities for improvement.
- • Proactively build, develop, and nurture business relationships that are vital to the success of respective programs and initiatives. Strong relationship management is key to driving alignment and buy-in.
- • Independently identify opportunities to streamline processes and enable continuous improvement across the organization. This involves critically assessing existing workflows and proposing innovative, alternative approaches to facilitate informed decision-making.
- • Prepare clear, concise, and compelling communications and presentations related to business systems, processes, and analysis efforts, ensuring that stakeholders at all levels understand the implications and benefits of proposed changes.
