- • A Place for Mom is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Senior Manager, Organic Growth Strategy, to spearhead the evolution of our organic acquisition and product-led growth initiatives. This pivotal role is embedded within the Product team and operates horizontally across our entire product portfolio, demanding a leader who can shape the future of how users and AI systems discover, understand, trust, and ultimately choose our services.
- • In today's rapidly changing digital landscape, particularly with the rise of AI-mediated discovery, this position requires a unique blend of deep traditional SEO expertise and a visionary approach to emerging search paradigms. While Search Engine Optimization (SEO) remains a cornerstone of our acquisition strategy, this role transcends classic SEO, encompassing AI-driven discovery, the nuances of product experience design, and the critical importance of trust signals in user decision-making.
- • The ultimate measure of success for this role will be the strategic clarity you bring, the quality of your decision-making, and your team's demonstrated ability to translate complex discovery signals into tangible product impact and measurable growth. You will be instrumental in defining how our products gain visibility and preference in an increasingly sophisticated digital ecosystem.
- • This is a highly collaborative leadership position, requiring close partnership with Product Managers, Designers, Researchers, Data Scientists, Marketing, and Brand teams. You will be a key influencer in shaping the user journey from initial discovery through to product adoption and loyalty, ensuring that organic growth considerations are integrated seamlessly into the product development lifecycle.
- • **Key Responsibilities and Strategic Focus Areas:**
- • **Own and Evolve Organic Growth Strategy:** You will be responsible for defining, refining, and continuously evolving the overarching organic growth strategy for all A Place for Mom products. This involves designing a cohesive system where traditional SEO, AI-driven discovery mechanisms, content strategy, and product experiences work in synergy to maximize organic acquisition.
- • **Strategic Product Investment Identification:** A critical aspect of this role is identifying key product and platform investments that will unlock durable organic acquisition channels and, importantly, reduce our reliance on paid acquisition efforts. This requires a strategic understanding of where to allocate resources for maximum long-term impact.
- • **Integrate Deep SEO Expertise into Product Decision-Making:** You will bring a profound understanding of SEO fundamentals – including technical SEO, information architecture, authority building, internal linking strategies, indexing best practices, and performance optimization – directly into strategic product planning. Your insights will guide prioritization and ensure that SEO considerations are foundational, not an afterthought.
- • **Interpret and Act on Algorithm and Discovery Shifts:** Staying ahead of the curve is paramount. You will interpret evolving search engine algorithms and changes in discovery landscapes to proactively inform product direction, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies. This ensures our products remain discoverable and competitive.
- • **Lead Strategy in an AI-Mediated Discovery Landscape:** Develop and articulate a clear, compelling point of view on how AI-driven discovery intersects with and potentially transforms traditional search principles. You will translate these emerging external shifts into actionable internal guidance, establish necessary guardrails, and inform strategic prioritization.
- • **Embed Trust and Comprehension in Product Experiences:** Collaborate closely with Design and Research teams to ensure that crucial elements of trust, comprehension, and authority are deeply embedded within our product experiences, fostering user confidence and engagement.
- • **Drive Opportunity Sizing and Prioritization:** Partner with Product Analytics and Data Science teams to rigorously size organic growth opportunities, providing data-driven insights to inform strategic tradeoffs. You will define clear hypotheses, establish success criteria, and develop robust learning plans for all growth initiatives.
- • **Provide Clear, Actionable Strategic Perspectives:** Equip leadership with clear, concise, and actionable perspectives on where the company should invest its resources and focus its efforts for maximum organic growth impact.
- • **Influence Cross-Functional Alignment:** Foster strong partnerships with Product Managers, Designers, Researchers, Engineers, Marketing, and Brand leaders. Your role will involve aligning diverse stakeholders around shared definitions of SEO success, organic growth objectives, and AI discovery readiness.
- • **Facilitate Structured Conversations:** Lead and facilitate structured, productive conversations around complex, ambiguous, and cross-domain challenges related to organic growth and discovery.
- • **Build and Scale Organic Growth Capability:** As the team evolves, you will play a key role in mentoring and guiding practitioners focused on discovery. You will contribute to defining roles, setting priorities, establishing operating rhythms, and participating in hiring and onboarding processes. Over time, you are expected to assume direct management responsibility for organic discovery roles as the team structure matures.
