📋 Description

• Serve as the primary liaison between new division partners and internal tax departments to facilitate seamless integration of payroll tax operations.
• Gather, analyze, and interpret complex payroll tax data from new divisions, including multi-state and multi-jurisdictional tax filings, to ensure accurate and timely onboarding.
• Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll tax liability payments, tax returns, notices, and compliance documentation across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
• Lead and participate in projects to optimize payroll tax workflows, including implementation of bulk filing systems, ACH credit setups, and other tax automation initiatives.
• Maintain detailed project plans, track progress, monitor deadlines, and provide regular status updates to ensure all tax-related initiatives are completed on schedule.
• Identify and initiate new projects that drive efficiency, reduce risk, and improve the quality and speed of payroll tax processing.
• Continuously evaluate and enhance existing tax department processes to increase operational effectiveness and compliance accuracy.
• Ensure strict adherence to federal, multi-state, and local payroll tax regulations, interpreting complex regulatory guidance without immediate supervision.
• Utilize intermediate to advanced Excel skills to analyze large datasets, reconcile discrepancies, and generate reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including payroll, HR, and finance to align tax compliance efforts with broader organizational goals.
• Provide exceptional customer service to internal partners and external clients by responding promptly to inquiries and resolving tax-related issues.
• Manage multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-volume payroll environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Complete hands-on processing of payroll tax returns across multiple jurisdictions as a core responsibility of the role.
• Support the onboarding of new clients and divisions by ensuring all tax registrations, filings, and compliance requirements are properly established.
• Stay current with evolving payroll tax laws and regulatory changes to proactively adjust processes and maintain compliance.
• Operate with autonomy while maintaining strong collaboration skills to support team objectives and organizational growth.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the strategic goals of the Payroll Tax department and Vensure Employer Solutions.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of three years of experience in multi-state, multi-jurisdiction, and high-volume payroll tax processing
• Minimum of one year of recent Senior, Lead, or Supervisor experience in payroll tax
• Hands-on experience processing payroll tax returns
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and payroll tax laws
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamentals of Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred
