We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Principal AI/ML Data Management & Governance Lead to join our dynamic AI organization. This pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping the future of data governance for our AI and machine learning initiatives, ensuring that the vast amounts of data generated by our electric vehicles, manufacturing processes, and enterprise systems are managed, secured, and utilized effectively and ethically.
• • As the Sr. Principal AI/ML Data Management & Governance Lead, you will be responsible for strategizing, executing, and maintaining master data management and data readiness for Lucid’s AI operational solutions and product enablement. You will architect and build the automated "control plane" that ensures our Data, AI, and Autonomous Agents operate in a safe, well-governed, and compliant manner. This role is critical in bridging the gap between high-level policy and practical code implementation, ensuring our AI systems are robust, reliable, and trustworthy.
• • You will design and implement a unified governance architecture across four critical domains, ensuring the integrity, lineage, and semantic consistency of our data assets. This includes developing federated governance models that empower individual teams to own their data products while strictly adhering to global standards and regulatory requirements.
• • In the Core Data Integrity & Lineage domain, you will architect sophisticated automated metadata harvesting systems. These systems will feed a central data catalog, enriching it with detailed context tagging and enabling comprehensive data discovery. A key responsibility will be implementing robust sovereignty and traceability frameworks. These frameworks are essential for meeting strict location-based regulations and enabling end-to-end data lineage, providing a clear audit trail for all data transformations and usage.
• • For Semantic Governance & Ontologies, you will define and enforce enterprise-wide ontologies and semantic standards. These will serve as the definitive "source of truth" for all AI systems, ensuring consistency in data interpretation and application. You will also establish governance models specifically designed to facilitate seamless interoperability between various AI agents, promoting collaboration and efficiency within our AI ecosystem.
• • The AI Explainability & Forensic Safety domain requires you to build advanced Explainable AI (XAI) frameworks. These frameworks will meticulously link AI decisions back to the specific training data versions and metadata used, providing transparency and accountability. Furthermore, you will design forensic guardrails that enable the reconstruction of decision states. This capability is crucial for preventing sensitive data leakage, such as Personally Identifiable Information (PII), and mitigating the risk of AI hallucinations, ensuring the reliability and safety of our AI outputs.
• • In the Agentic AI Controls domain, you will architect identity frameworks specifically for non-human agents. These frameworks will enforce strict "least privilege" principles, ensuring that agents only have access to the data and resources they absolutely need to perform their functions. You will also define comprehensive sandboxing standards for agent interactions with external tools and systems. This will prevent unintended state changes and safeguard the integrity of our operational environments.
• • This role demands a strategic leader capable of defining governance roadmaps in collaboration with C-suite stakeholders and delivering foundational code that operationalizes these policies. You will leverage your proven track record in high-stakes industries where data failure carries significant safety or regulatory implications, such as Pharma, Healthcare, or Defense, to inform your approach.
• • Your technical expertise should encompass knowledge graph architectures and semantic layers for AI data standardization, policy engines like OPA, and "Policy as Code" frameworks within Infrastructure as Code (IaC) workflows. Experience with enterprise-scale data catalogs, automated lineage systems (e.g., OpenLineage), and familiarity with modern AI stacks including vector search, LLM orchestration, and RAG architectures are essential. Furthermore, fluency in multi-cloud security, with a strong focus on data residency, encryption, and zero-trust architectures, is required to ensure the security and compliance of our data infrastructure.
