- • As a Sr. Principal Data Scientist - Machine Learning Engineer at Northrop Grumman, you will serve as a technical force multiplier within the Insights & Intelligence (i2) organization, embedding trusted AI and data insights into critical business decisions that impact national security and technological advancement.
- • Day to day, you will work directly with stakeholders including engineers, program managers, and subject matter experts to scope complex problems, build production-grade ML/AI applications using tools like Streamlit and Gradio, develop cloud-based infrastructure on AWS and Databricks, and implement MLOps practices including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- • You will join a high-autonomy team that operates at the intersection of data science and software engineering, collaborating closely with business leaders to transform ambiguous challenges into scalable, production-ready analytics solutions while valuing intellectual curiosity, speed, and the ability to toggle between rapid prototyping and engineered robustness.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in MLOps, cloud architecture, and full-stack data application development while contributing to mission-critical systems that drive enterprise-wide decision making, with opportunities to lead technical initiatives and influence best practices across the organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • Must have a PhD with 4 years of relevant experience OR a Master’s degree with 6 years OR a Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant professional experience
- • Strong proficiency with Python, SQL, and Git
- • Experience with rapid application development frameworks (e.g., Streamlit, Gradio, Starlette, Next.js)
- • Knowledge of DevOps or MLOps concepts and their application in data science workflows
- • Strong understanding of containerization (e.g., Docker, Podman)
- • Ability to work collaboratively with data teams and excellent communication skills for engaging non-technical stakeholders
