📋 Description

• We are seeking a Senior Product Engineer (Back-end) to join our dynamic Traveler Lifecycle team at WeTravel, a company revolutionizing the travel industry. As a key member of this team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing the core ecosystem of tools that empower travel organizers to streamline their administrative tasks, allowing them to focus on what they do best: creating unforgettable experiences. You will be instrumental in building the next generation of our framework, which provides organizers with enhanced visibility, intuitive workflows, and powerful AI-driven automation to manage and grow their businesses effectively.
• In this role, you will lead end-to-end feature development, from initial user research and product design through architectural planning, coding, deployment, and ongoing production monitoring. You will collaborate closely with our product team to deeply understand user problems and translate those insights into world-class solutions that enhance the experience for both travel organizers and their clients. Your contributions will directly impact the usability and efficiency of our platform, making WeTravel an indispensable tool for daily operations.
• A significant part of your work will involve contributing to critical upcoming projects. This includes the development of a robust CRM system designed to help organizers efficiently collect and convert leads and nurture returning customers. You will also be involved in defining and implementing an Organizer Dashboard that guides users through essential activities and leverages WeTravel's AI capabilities for more effective business management. Furthermore, you will contribute to a Tasks Management system that ensures smooth background operations, allowing organizers to focus on customer experience by preventing missed opportunities and ensuring information accuracy through smart workflows.
• Your technical expertise will be crucial in building resilient applications and ensuring our services remain operational. This involves writing high-quality, maintainable code across both front-end (TypeScript/React) and back-end (Ruby on Rails) technologies. You will be responsible for ensuring our services are always available by building robust applications, implementing comprehensive monitoring, and actively participating in on-call rotations and incident response. This ensures the reliability and stability of the platform that thousands of organizers depend on daily.
• Beyond technical contributions, you will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and experience to foster their growth. You will also actively contribute to shaping WeTravel's engineering practices and upholding our commitment to excellence and collaboration. We encourage a pragmatic approach to leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity, and your insights in this area will be highly valued as we continue to innovate.

Our technology stack includes React/ReactNative/TypeScript for the front-end, Ruby on Rails for the back-end, and Python microservices running on Kubernetes. 🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, ideally full-stack, with a strong product ownership mindset.
• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, or in at least two other languages (Python/Go/Java/Kotlin/Node.js/.NET) with a demonstrated desire to learn Ruby.
• Experience building and working with distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures, demonstrating strong systems thinking and the ability to design for scalability.
• Experience with production systems, including monitoring and on-call responsibilities.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working in multicultural, distributed teams.
• Pragmatic approach to using AI tools to improve productivity and experience leading projects and mentoring other engineers.
