📋 Description

• Are you a seasoned Product Manager with a proven track record of not just conceptualizing but actively building software? Vendr is seeking an individual who possesses a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, from architectural decisions to the nuances of component libraries and the critical trade-offs engineers make. This role is for someone who is truly AI-native, not just curious about AI, but someone who integrates tools like Claude and Cursor into their daily workflow, thinks in prompts, and has already leveraged AI to build capabilities previously unimaginable. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our customer-facing platform and internal tooling, working alongside a highly efficient, AI-empowered engineering team.
• As a Sr. Product Manager, you will own significant aspects of our innovative AI Negotiation Platform. This includes defining and refining the customer experience, ensuring seamless interactions for users submitting negotiations, tracking deal progress, and engaging with our AI agent, Ruth. You will be responsible for the agent's workflows, dictating how Ruth gathers information, formulates negotiation strategies, and executes deals. Furthermore, you will have a hand in evolving our internal tooling, specifically RuthRadar, our proprietary product management tool. This tool leverages AI to ingest customer calls, extract valuable feature requests, and manage our product pipeline, all built upon the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Your insights and direct usage will be crucial in its ongoing development.
• A core tenet of this role is upholding an exceptionally high quality bar. You will possess a keen eye for detail, proactively identifying and addressing edge cases, inconsistent states, and user experience 'paper cuts' that can erode customer trust and satisfaction. Your commitment to craft will ensure that our platform is not only functional but also polished and intuitive. This involves a deep dive into the user interface, ensuring that spacing is optimal, interactions are fluid, and copy is impactful and clear. You will be expected to read and understand code, appreciating the technical realities and constraints that inform engineering decisions.
• The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable history of leading software development initiatives. You possess a refined taste in design, noticing subtle details that elevate the user experience. Your technical acumen will allow you to engage meaningfully with engineers, understanding the implications of their choices. Familiarity with our React-based stack, including frameworks like Remix and Next.js, is highly advantageous. Your AI-native mindset means you are comfortable with the unique challenges and opportunities of building AI-powered products, understanding concepts like prompting, context windows, and the distinct development paradigms involved.
• You will be a catalyst for our fast-moving engineering team, which utilizes advanced tools like Claude Code to ship features at an unprecedented pace. Your role is to remove roadblocks, providing crisp requirements and making swift decisions, even with incomplete information. You thrive in an environment where speed and agility are paramount, and you are adept at translating complex needs into clear, actionable specifications that engineers can readily build from, moving beyond lengthy, traditional PRDs. Your presence will be felt across our communication channels – Slack, Figma, and even in the code itself – wherever necessary to maintain momentum.
• This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a product that is already making a significant impact. Ruth is not a superficial AI wrapper; it actively conducts negotiations, leveraging Vendr's extensive $1.6 billion in saved customer spend and a vast SaaS pricing database. You will be immersed in an AI-native engineering culture, working with cutting-edge tools and methodologies. As part of a lean, Series B company with around 50 employees, your contributions will have immediate and visible leverage, with decisions translating into shipped features within days rather than quarters. You will directly benefit from and contribute to RuthRadar, gaining unparalleled proximity to customer needs and feedback synthesized by AI.
• This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented individual who is passionate about building exceptional products. You will be responsible for the end-to-end product lifecycle for key features, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, usability, and technical execution. Your ability to anticipate issues, test edge cases rigorously, and advocate for the user experience will be critical to the success of our AI Negotiation Platform. You will collaborate closely with engineering, design, and data science teams to deliver innovative solutions that redefine how companies procure software.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience leading the end-to-end development and launch of software products, with a strong portfolio demonstrating built applications.
• Deeply AI-native; daily user of AI tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor) with practical experience building AI-powered workflows, agents, or products, understanding concepts like prompting and context windows.
• Technical fluency and comfort with modern web development stacks, specifically React-based frameworks (e.g., Remix, Next.js), with the ability to read and understand code.
• Exceptional attention to detail, a keen eye for design aesthetics and user experience, and the ability to write clear, concise requirements that enable rapid engineering execution.
