• • Alkami Technology, a leader in cloud-based digital banking solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a specialization in container technologies to join our dynamic, remote-first team. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the utmost reliability, scalability, and performance of our cutting-edge infrastructure, with a significant emphasis on container orchestration and its associated ecosystem.
• • As a Senior SRE, you will be instrumental in architecting and implementing robust, scalable platform solutions designed to meet current business requirements and anticipate future needs. Your expertise will guide the integration of applications into our platform, working collaboratively with software engineers, DevOps specialists, Information Security teams, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless and efficient deployments.
• • A core aspect of this role involves developing and disseminating best practices for infrastructure implementation. You will create comprehensive technical guides and provide ongoing mentorship to other teams, fostering a culture of operational excellence and shared knowledge across the organization.
• • Proactive monitoring of system health, performance metrics, and overall reliability is paramount. You will implement and refine strategies to prevent downtime, ensuring our services remain consistently available and performant for our clients and their millions of users.
• • You will play a critical role in maintaining the security posture of our infrastructure by implementing processes that ensure security vulnerabilities are identified and remediated within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs), safeguarding our systems and sensitive data.
• • Investigating and troubleshooting complex system and performance issues will be a regular responsibility. This includes conducting thorough root cause analyses and developing effective, long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.
• • Continuous improvement is a key driver for this role. You will actively identify opportunities for enhancing existing processes and systems, contributing significantly to ongoing efforts in performance optimization and cost efficiency, ensuring our infrastructure is both powerful and economical.
• • Staying abreast of the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Site Reliability Engineering and containerization is essential. You will leverage this knowledge to continually elevate and improve our platform's capabilities and resilience.
• • This role requires participation in an on-call rotation, ensuring that critical issues are addressed promptly, even outside of standard business hours. Your commitment to maintaining service availability will be crucial.
• • You will be responsible for creating and maintaining detailed documentation for system infrastructure, operational processes, and best practices, ensuring knowledge transfer and operational continuity.
• • The position involves working independently on tasks and projects, with reviews conducted at critical junctures. You will be a key stakeholder in projects of diverse scope, guiding them from initial design through to successful completion.
• • Enhancing relationships with both internal and external partners will be a key aspect of your role, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment across different teams and with our clients.
• • You will provide valuable mentorship to junior team members, sharing your expertise and helping to develop the next generation of SRE talent within Alkami.
• • The role demands a strong understanding of networking principles, load balancing strategies, and robust security protocols to ensure a secure and efficient operating environment.
• • Experience with modern CI/CD tooling is essential for facilitating rapid and reliable container deployments, streamlining our development and release cycles.
• • Familiarity with creating and modifying Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) is required to automate and manage our infrastructure effectively.
• • Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or development in Java/.NET is necessary for automating repetitive tasks and building efficient workflows.
• • Experience with monitoring and observability tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK Stack, is highly desirable for gaining deep insights into system performance and health.
• • Understanding of regulatory standards or experience working within a PCI-compliant environment is a plus, particularly given the financial services nature of our clients.
