📋 Description

• • Architect & deliver the next-generation Android foundation that powers JioHotstar’s 750-million weekly viewers. You will own the Viewer Experience (VX) stack end-to-end—from cold-start latency to buttery-smooth playback—ensuring every swipe, search, and stream feels instantaneous and delightful.
• • Design, build, and harden reusable frameworks, SDKs, and shared components that accelerate feature delivery across 30+ product squads. Your code will become the contract that unifies personalization, interactivity, watch-history, and search into a single cohesive experience.
• • Drive measurable performance wins: reduce ANR rate by 30 %, cut start-up time to <1.5 s on low-end devices, and shrink APK size without sacrificing functionality. You will instrument, benchmark, and A/B-test relentlessly, turning metrics into actionable insights.
• • Champion engineering excellence through rigorous design docs, pull-request reviews, and automated CI/CD gates. Establish lint rules, coding guidelines, and modularization blueprints that keep a 2 M-line codebase consistent and healthy.
• • Collaborate daily with ML engineers to embed on-device recommendation models, with designers to polish motion & accessibility, and with product managers to translate ambitious road-maps into shippable epics. Your prototypes will often become the north-star for entire quarterly OKRs.
• • Own reliability and incident response for the Android surface area. Participate in weekly war-room reviews, perform root-cause analyses, and roll out hot-fixes within hours, not days, while documenting post-mortems that prevent recurrence.
• • Explore bleeding-edge Android tech—Jetpack Compose, Kotlin Multiplatform, Media3, and emerging Google APIs—running spikes that decide whether we adopt, adapt, or bypass each innovation.
• • Mentor a growing bench of mid-level engineers. Run internal tech talks, craft in-depth engineering blogs, and build self-service tooling that turns tribal knowledge into shared leverage.
• • Influence org-level strategy: propose modular build graphs, dynamic-delivery bundles, and cloud-side feature flags that let us ship weekly to 100 % of users without regressions.
• • Finally, be the voice of the user. Instrument real-time feedback loops, monitor Play Store reviews, and translate pain points into backlog epics that continuously raise the bar for a billion-strong audience.
